Dear Parents This Term the students have participated in a number of activities and events achieving outcomes in all Key Learning Areas ( KLA). A few of the highlights have been the outstanding digital movies/vimeos that have been produced by the students, Bu Anna, Bu Emma and Emily King which you can view on our school website. The level of students learning and engagement as they have participated in the process, using digital tools such as the green screen, is 21st century learning at its best. Seeing the enjoyment, pleasure and delight in their faces as they watch themselves on the big screen, certainly creates a positive school culture where many a giggle is had by all. The schools strong student leadership has been well demonstrated this term by the Anzac service that was run by our school leaders at the beginning of this term. I constantly get positive feedback about the student-run service and what an outstanding job they all did. This calibre of SRC leadership was once again displayed at the end of this term, where all the students and staff enjoyed ‘Pirate Day’ and money was raised to help research childhood cancer and was inspired by a young boy and his family who is dealing with cancer. You can count on me...the Pirate Video is a must to watch. Finally the outstanding contribution of parents through fundraising and practical support in the classroom and the activities of schools, such as ILCA, continues to be vitally important and contributes to improved student achievement. Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable holiday break. Dear Parents

Th is Term the students have

participated in a number of activities

and events achieving outcomes in all

Key Learning Areas ( KLA).

A few of the highlights have been the

outstanding digital movies/vimeos that

have been produced by the students, Bu

Anna, Bu Emma and Emily King which

you can view on our school website. The

level of students learning and

engagement as they have participated

in the process, using digital tools such

as the green screen, is 21st century

learning at its best. Seeing the

school culture where many a giggle is

had by all.

The schools strong student leadership

has been well demonstrated this term

by the Anzac service that was run by our

school leaders at the beginning of this

term. I constantly get positive feedback

about the student-run service and what

an outstanding job they all did. This

calibre of SRC leadership was once again

The Bush Hut by Zayn

At lunch on 22nd of June

Kobi, Banjo, Joel and I built

a tepee for us to rest in at

lunch and recess. We are

building a snake and

wombat farm because we want to

attract the wombats and green tree

snakes. Kobi built a jumping pad

and 2 offices, we made a roof with

tree branches. Ella, Zaki and Bridie

are our gardeners. We made traps

around the tepee because we were

trying to catch a possum. We got

rope from down the bottom of the

bush hut to tie the tee pee together.

We got wood from Will.

Assembly

Parents are welcome to attend our assembly held every Monday morning at 9.00am. Special event

assemblies will be advertised in the Newsletter.

School Uniforms

Please ensure your child’s uniform is clearly labeled with their name. If any clothing that doesn’t

belong to your child makes it’s way to your house, please return to school.

Senior Excursion to Sydney—24-28th August

Please keep your payments coming in. Payments can be made

via EFT to the schools bank account if this is an easier option

than sending cash into school. See office for details.

Give Me ‘5’ for Kids

In June every year the local radio station 2MCFM runs a

community fund raiser for the children’s ward of our

Macksville Hospital. People are asked to donate 5 cent

coins which buys vital equipment for the ward.

Every year I try to help by asking anyone if they would

give me their spare coins to help

”our kids”. If you can donate your 5

cent pieces or any coins, please

leave them at the school office.

Thanks Jo Lane

Reporting to parents is about

c o m p a r i n g s t u d e n t

achievement to syllabus

standards in each key learning

area and participation in school

activities.

Student achievement of the

syllabus standards is the goal

of planning, programming and

assessing.

Report ing progress and

achievement asks teachers to

make a ‘point in time’

judgement (assessment OF

learning) of the student’s

o v e r a l l p r o g r e s s a n d

achievement in relation to the

relevant syllabus standards.

School Reports

Report comments identify both

areas of student strength and

those for further development

(assessment FOR learning).

Opportunities for teachers,

students and parents to engage

in three-way conferencing on

samples of students’ own work

and the reports will occur in

term 3. If any parents are

concerned about their students’

progress, please

feel f ree to

approac h the

classroom teacher

to arrange a

meeting.

End of Term

Assembly

Have a safe and wonderful

holiday break. Students return

for Term 3 on Tuesday 14th July.

outside for the kids, the adults watched

adorable films and ate inside the LLLC.

Gillian, thank you for your wonderful

and Nick, awesome work.

A P&C Mass Garage Sale is our next idea!!

Our inaugural food feast went off with a

bang last Friday night. After some misgivings

by partners that no one was coming, in they

flooded a bit after 6pm. The food was

incredible and really exactly what the whole

event was all about! An enormous ‘thank

you’ to all the families who came and

provided meals and enjoyed the short

movies. With very little outlay, except

goodwill and a bit of spirit, the night raised

approximately $400. My plate was piled high

with so much food, I luckily didn’t get to the

desserts. With curries, stews, quiches, rice

and meatball dishes, roasted vegetables,

local sourdough bread, pasta there was

something to please all the palates. Not to
