The P & C Fun Run was an outstanding success both with the money raised and the students behaviour during the Fun Run. It was great to see the cross country training Mrs Hollingsworth implemented make such an impact on the children’s increased fitness levels across the school. The students looked terrific in their facon shirts. Families then enjoyed a picnic lunch aer the Fun Run. Congratulaons to the students who represented Bungaree PS in OpMINDS at Curn Uni- versity recently. The judges were very impressed with how our students performed with some results being in the outstanding category. The students will be presenng part of their work for the next assembly in Week 2 of Term 4, 20th October as well as in the next news- leer. Students have been aending swimming lessons for the last two weeks of this term. Mrs Hollingsworth is to be congratulated for all of her organisaon to ensure this event ran smoothly together with the capable support of Bungaree and PLDS staff. Students from both schools are to be congratulated on their behaviour and enthusiasm during swimming lessons. Friday, the last day of the term, we will be celebrang West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers being in a football final. Students are able to wear any sporng team shirt/scarf as part of the day. It does not need to be AFL. Please– no caps are to be worn. Normal uniform/ swimming are applies for those students who do not want to be part of this free event. The P & C have been working with Subway to trial having Subway lunches twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays. This trial will commence the first week of Term 4. Order forms will go home Monday 12th October or can be downloaded from the school website for the re- mainder of the term. Orders are due in on Tuesday/Thursday, the day before actual lunch day which is Wednesday/Friday. The excepon to this is for Friday 23rd Oct (Week 2) as this is our athlecs carnival. Instead the P & C will be running a sausage sizzle lunch on Friday. See Term 4 Planner overleaf. Our annual Loud Shirt Day will be held on the first Friday of Term 4. Students are asked to bring a gold coin donaon on the day. The gold coin donaon goes to Telethon Speech and Hearing to help with early intervenon therapy and services for hearing impaired children. I would like to thank Lisa Harg and Chris Pickering ,our student teachers, for all of their hard work over this term. We wish both of them all of the best in their future career as they have now completed their teaching degree. Have a safe and relaxing break for those going on holidays with their children. Dear Parents/Carers

It has been a busy end of term with a number of whole school events. The P & C Fun Run was

Peel Language Development School

This term Rooms 1, 2 and 3 have been having FUN WITH LANGUAGE!

On a daily basis students have been engaged in a range of language ac�vi�es de-

signed to help them achieve their individual language goals based on the 6 language

areas:

Seman(cs: Words and their meaning.

Syntax: The way we organise words into sentences.

Phonological Awareness: The knowledge of sound structure in language.

Pragma(cs: The social use of language.

Comprehension: The understanding of language.

Narra(ve: The telling and retelling of a series of events.

Some of the fun ac�vi�es students have been involved in are:

Sor�ng and labelling ac�vi�es to increase vocabulary for labelling,

Categorisa�on and describing.

Oral ac�vi�es to learn, inves�gate, manipulate and use sounds in words.

Jolly grammar and Jolly phonics ac�vi�es.

It has been a very successful semester and we have seen commendable improve-

ment in our students.
