Parents can ensure that students enter school grounds safely by choosing drop off point that doesn’t involve crossing the road. The best options for parents are Thompson Street and Bourke Street. There is always plenty of parking on the same side of the street as the school. These are residential streets and a lot less busy than Cooper Street. State Primary Cricket Majad Khan has recently returned from the State Cricket Championships held in Maitland. Majad acquitted himself very well taking 12 wickets in four matches. The Riverina team won 2 out of 4 matches and was placed 5 th overall. Majad won two player of the month awards and took 6 wickets in one match. Congratulations Majad on an outstanding effort. Public Speaking Sensational is the word that comes to mind after the performance of our students in the stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 Public Speaking Competitions. Our students are very talented and deciding winners was a very difficult job for adjudicators. The place getters were: Stage 1 : William Crawford, Sam Bragg and Ally Crawford. Stage 2 : Harry Ward, Kate Crawford, Rosie Meares and Cassie Bush Stage 3 : Brigette Holder, Ebony Davey and Henry Altenburg The winners of the competition will be announced at our Awards Night. Thank you to Mrs Lorraine Saad for sponsoring the competition. It was very pleasing to see so many students enter the competition. Fete This year’s fete was successful. A very tidy sum was raised for the P & C. More importantly though, the fete was the result of our whole school community working together to produce a memorable event that so many children and adults enjoyed. Thank you to all those who contributed in some way, through donations of items for sale, prizes and produce and by volunteering in any capacity. Thank you to all those families who attended on the day and supported our wonderful school.

FeteThis year’s fete was successful. Thank you to all those families who attended on the day and supported our wonderful school.I would particularly like to recognize the efforts of the P & C President Mrs Rebecca Bragg for her leadership, drive and energy and the many hours of behind the scenes work by P & C members. Planning for next year’s fete has already commenced.

Life Education VanStudents were thrilled and excited to again make the acquaintance of Healthy Harold from the Life Education Van. We are very grateful to Chris Edwards for her donation to the school that enabled our students to attend at a very reduced cost. The Federal Government Drought Assistance Fund also supported students to attend.Educator Lucy Nowlan-Kemp was very pleased to inform me of the impeccable behaviour and attentiveness of our students.

Toy recyclingWith Christmas fast approaching, have you considered donating your youngest child’s unwanted toys to charity? Many families feel the pinch over this time and donations to all charities are much appreciated. A new resource for quality used goods is Second Chance Toys (www.secondchancetoys.com.au ), an Australia-wide community initiative to rescue and recycle gently used plastic toys by donating them to children in need.
