A School of Red, White and Green

Wow! What a tremendous response to our Christmas

mufti day. The playground and classrooms were awash

with Santa’s helpful elves and many red, green and white

colours. You could have been mistaken that you were

visiting Santa’s Christmas training school for good boys

and girls.

Christmas Hamper Raffle

A very big thank you to everyone who not only got

dressed up but also brought along a Christmas treat for

the P&C’s Christmas raffle. We managed to fill four big

boxes with chocolates – in all shapes and sizes, biscuits,

candy canes, Christmas decorations, a bottle or two of

wine, sweets, lollies and much, much more. These

goodies will be bundled up into Christmas hampers.

If you would like to donate anything further for the

hampers, please drop goodies off at the office by Friday

December 14. Raffle tickets will also need to be in by

this day. If you would like to buy additional tickets then

pick up a bundle from the office. The winners of the

Christmas hampers will be drawn on Monday December

17. Thank you and good luck.

Unreturned Entertainment Books – Last Chance!

We have one final opportunity to send in either book or

payment before this fund raiser closes. We need you to

make every effort to locate the lost books in classrooms,

school bags, kitchen drawers etc. We will NOT be paid

any amount raised unless we endeavour to return all

books. Thank you to those families that have done so.

Friday December 7 is our last day to account for all the

outstanding books. If your family hasn’t responded

could you please send in the Book, $55 or an explanation

note so this fundraising activity can be finalised. The

P&C is looking forward to receiving its fundraising

cheque to spend on school resources.

2013 Calf and Craft Fair

Just a quick update to let you all know that the P&C

would like to confirm a volunteer for next year’s Fair

Coordinator position before the end of school. We have

had an encouraging enquiry but would like to make sure

we have the position filled for when we start school next

year. We have also had families commit to some of the

Stall Coordinator positions. Thank you to Rachael

Batchelor – Moo Poo Raffle, Mary Fineran – Face

Painting, Leanne Coombes – Cake Stall, Gina Wilson-

Burns – Marketing, and Natalie Hall - Tombolas. Stall

Coordinators are still required for the book stall, fair

games, Craft Cottage and craft stall.

If you were a Stall Coordinator in 2011, could you also

please confirm your availability to do it again in 2013.

Alternately if you are looking for a change to a different

Fair role then let us know. There are many jobs and we

require many hands to help out both leading up to and on

the Fair day.

Next year we would like to pair stall coordinators up with

a family from a 2013 Kindergarten, first or second grade

class to ensure that the success of the Fair is carried on by

new families as our old families move on to high school.

Michelle Hartnett, with Laila in Kindergarten next year,

has already volunteered to pair up with Leanne Coombes

on the cake stall. A list of stalls and stall coordinators

will be sent home to Kindergarten and Stage 1 families in

Term one. If you have a special interest in books, plants,

craft, making milkshakes or cooking a BBQ then let us

know now and we can pair you up with the appropriate

stall.

Please call Cindy Murray on 4446 0556 or send a note to

the office if you or your family can volunteer as the Fair

Coordinator, a Stall Coordinator, or a stall helper. And

remember to put Saturday October 19 down as the

Cambewarra Calf and Craft Fair in your new 2013

calendars and diaries.

Volunteers

This week we have volunteers away, working and

having surgery and we will need urgent assistance

particularly on Thursday and Friday. If you can help

on these or any other morning for the rest of the year

please let me know.

I’d like to give a very warm welcome to Kim Smalle and

her daughter Hailey to our school. Hailey started in

Kindy a month ago and mum in the canteen the same

week. Kim’s enjoyed it so much that she’s helped out

twice a week and will continue to support the canteen by

joining the Canteen Committee pending work

commitments. She also, due to unforeseen circumstances,

single handedly represented our Canteen at the

Shoalhaven Canteen Forum and sparked great interest in

our yummy homemade products and the school’s chooks

and vegie garden. Magnificent job Kim!

Kim said “I’ve loved working in the Canteen and getting

to know everyone….. I enjoy coming to the canteen and

feeling useful and being around nice people.”

Thanks to our all our regular rostered and fill in

Stevens, Skye O’Sullivan, Rae Carter, Bec Johnston,

Carol Hunter, Jane Brown, Mel Hyam, Rachel Batchelor,

have filled in for me when I was away for a week.

Call or text me on Mob: 0477 889 327 if you can assist.

School Banking If your child doesn't already have their own bank

account, then now is the time with Christmas

approaching to start one up. All our new Kinder kids for

2013 were given a school banking kit last Wednesday as

part of their school orientation package. Older siblings

and other students may pick up a kit at the office or see

Nichole Batson, our school banking coordinator on a

Monday morning from 8.30-9.00am in front of Mrs

Mison's classroom. School banking helps kids develop a

value for money and the need to save for something

special or important in the future. It also helps with

maths and problem solving particularly when you need to

know how many jobs at what price you will need to do to

reach the amount to buy that new scooter. School

banking also generates fund raising dollars for the P&C -

$5 for every new account and 10c for each deposit.

Toy Drive There has been a great turnout of puzzles, games and

toys, some still in their unopened wrapping, dropped off

at the office. Thank you to those families who donated

these items. If you are making way for those expected

Christmas gifts, and we're sure that there has been many

a good boy and good girl this year, then you are always

welcome to drop off suitable games and toys at the

office. Such items may include tactile equipment such as

Lego, board games, dominoes, card games; free play

such as pretend shopping, cooking and money; and sand

pit toys.
