LEARNING FROM OUR TERRAQUAS!

Page 2: Terrarium/Aquarium habitats

A terraqua is a combination of a terrarium and an aquarium. The students created their terraquas to learn more about garden worms and pond snails in their natural habitat. In addition, the students were able to learn about ecosystems and habitats using their terraquas.

The students were able to make regular observations to answer questions they had about the garden worm and pond snail and learned how their mini habitats met the needs of these organisms as well as how the different living things depended on other living things as well as non living things in order to survive.

Finally, we used our terraquas to learn about three nature cycles (water, carbon dioxide/oxygen, and nitrogen) and how each cycle works within the terraqua and how these cycles are essential for life within.
