Inspiration
Street style is an urban expression that transcends culture to represent a chic and edgy lifestyle. The Chicago Ballet school design conceptually embraces the chic, edginess of street style as a compliment to the artistic expression that is paramount in the Cuban Ballet syllabus. The architecture and massing within the space will provide asymmetric interest, while the materials and color palate layer complexly with contrasting elements inspired by street style culture.
My source of inspiration was a photography collection by Dane Shitagi, which portrayed modern Ballerinas set against the backdrop of the urban chaos in New York City. This unique dichotomy between the glamorous performance persona and the urban climate inspired my conceptual research and preliminary design focus. Cuban ballet dancers follow a syllabus that encourages artistic training and creative expression, the result is a uniquely contemporary, artistic viewpoint. I would like to exploit this contemporary viewpoint, and introduce an urban edginess to the art into the studio space.
The goal for the new Chicago Ballet Center design is to create a fun, artistic space that inspires creativity within the dancers, as well as inspire potential renters of the studio spaces.

RAUBAUChicago Huriger + wine shop
Brand Platform
Design Intent
Indulge in seasonal favorites near the tree of intoxication, in Chicago’s very own heuriger. Follow the buschen to the secret patio where the rauschbaum invites you to take a break from your day. You work hard, stop by and slow down with us.
The Design Intent of RAUBAU is to redesign a 1,000 sq-ft Logan square street-front into a niche wine retailer and bar. The goal of this project was to create a branded experience that physically manifests the identity of the new company, and its owners.
Sustainable Office project
Concept
Design Intent
Sustainability has become such an integral part of not only de-sign, but our culture as a whole. Much of this Eco-aware attitude is thanks to the ultra modern millennial. This sustainable office will be inspired by the abstraction of this modern, fresh attitude as a shift away from the a typical representation of “green de-sign” that has become a forced pallet and a cliche aesthetic. This space will be a representation that is more sleek, modern and youthful, like this new generation of thinkers.

Adapt Palliative
Care facility
Concept
Design Intent
Progressive illness cannot be cured, but progress in the day to day quality of life is possible for those suffering. Blue light, like that found in shallow waters of coral reefs, is proven to naturally invigorate and energize the human mind. The fish that live in these waters are vibrant, colorful and playful; these fish and the abstract idea of the energy found in this blue light will inspire this Palliative Care Center’s design.
Palliative Care encompasses a heightened level of care for patients suffering from progressive, and chronic illness beyond basic diagnostic and treatment needs. Between the initial diagnosis and the time the patient is admitted into hospice care, the patient and their loved ones are not privy to many of the realities of their disease’s stages of progression. This pallia-tive care center will balance treatment, wellness, and counsel-ing needs with the illness education required to cope with more than just the visible symptoms of illness.

Nopal Pediatrics
Concept
Narrative
Nopal Pediatric Center pulls inspiration from the natural wonders of the North American desert. The space will allow urban Chicago children to experience nature in a completely unfamiliar format and keep their minds entertained while participating in potentially stressful experiences. This desert nature inspiration will be reinforced in a curvilinear info graphic wall that details the parts of the landscape along side an ant-farm incorporated into the base
Nopal pediatrics is a sustainable healthcare office design project that received the LEED Gold award according the the version 4 requirements. Through sustainable specifications, the space will amuse children in a playful environment while consisting of sophisticated specifications to allow for a healthy and efficient workplace.

Design Intent
Hotel Archivos will be inspired by the street art movement that rocketed in popularity due to the Modernisme movement throughout Barcelona, Spain. The space will embrace the energy, color and complex materializa-tion of the street art scene and its vibrant culture. Fans, artists, curators, and patrons will be able to indulge in the Barcelona experience with works from the street permanently archived within the design of the hotel.
The design focus of Archivos hotel is to archive the greatest of Barcelona’s street works of art throughout the hotel by incor-porating the works into a living gallery that has the grandeur and scale of the works as they would be seen on the street, yet not compromising the luxurious feel a guest requires of total hospitality experience.
NomadHostel
Concept
Design Intent
Wanderlust travelers enjoy memorable experiences through found objects on their travels; every trinket, and every token of their passage is paired with a story. The concept of Nomad Hostel will embrace the idea of reminiscing warmly over these found object of wanderlust. Found site materials, including chalk-boards, brick, and wood to be utilized in imaginative and innovative ways that feel reminiscent of some-thing familiar and comfortable. The color palate will embrace warm and inviting tones that compliment the natural hues of the greenhouse. The facade’s architecture will be re-imagined into balconies, giving the structure a fort like entry expe-rience which will engage the site and urban setting. The vibrancy of this Hostel will entice Nomadic travel-ers into making new connections with people through the connective space.
The design intent of Nomad Hostel project is to re-purpose one of Chicago’s city schools into a sus-tainable space where wanderlust travelers will experi-ence their stay in a vibrant, living environment.
