TEFIS in brief

Project title: Testbed for Future Internet Services

Instrument: IP – FIRE Objective (1.6)

Consortium: Thales (coordinator), ENG, INRIA, Fraunhofer, SQS, USP, IT innovation , Active Eon, LTU-CDT

Duration: 30 months (June 2010->)

Budget: 5,4M€

Project objectives: Provide a framework that will allow interconnection of various

facilities effectively. Develop the TEFIS portal and user tools Implement the core services of the platform Define the testbed connectors API Develop the experimental data management tools Provide iterative releases Prepare the open call

• A single-access point to different testbed resourcesTEFIS goal is to provide a single access point to run experiments remotely on heterogeneous testbeds.

• Support service development lifecycleTEFIS project will develop a portal with the relevant features and tools to make the access to Testbeds and LivingLab features easier.

• Efficient Future Internet Service experiment and developmentTEFIS project will provide researchers and users a set of different features and tools that will improve their productiveness, making true the expectation of ‘more for less’.

• Personalized environments for testsTestbed users will be able to create their personalized entry point to the Future Internet, by defining their own environment for their experiments.

• Making sure the FI services meet societal needs• Heterogeneity of aspects to experiment• Support an approach combining Living Labs

experimentation, FIRE testbed facilities and simulation together• Simulation can be used to carry out 'what if'

experiments• Living labs to involve users in the design• Trials in large scale real-life conditions
