BREAK THE CASE

Presented by Farhan Amanullah, MD of UT Health Science Center San Antonio

Cases will be challenging, but not impossible, so don’t be intimidated!

Partial credit will be given for answers on the right track.

Submit your answers and you will have the chance to win a nice prize as well as bragging rights as the “Brainiest Radiologist at the TRS Annual Meeting!”

Your name will also be engraved on a plaque that will be displayed at future TRS meetings.

Winners will be announced in two categories – a resident/fellow category and a practicing radiologist category.

The Guiberteau Award for Resident Excellence is an award for graduating radiology residents in Texas, made possible by a generous endowment to the TRS Foundation from Milton J. Guiberteau, MD, FACR, a past president of both the TRS and ACR. The Guiberteau Award is presented annually during the TRS Awards Dinner (see page 6 for details). The 2017 Guiberteau Award for Resident Excellence will be awarded to the Texas resident that best embodies the qualities of overall resident excellence in the categories of research/scholarly activities, leadership, and citizenship/humanitarianism.

You’ll Experience a Quality State Meeting with the Caliber of a National Meeting! Attendees and speakers alike rave that the quality of our meeting is on par with those of some of the most renowned national organizations. We secure some of the most gifted national and local speakers to ensure that you’re learning from the best in the field. Looking for the best radiology CME in Texas? This is it!

You’ll Be Close to Home and Spend Much Less than at Other Comparable Meetings! Attending the TRS Annual Meeting is convenient - usually an easy drive away. A meeting close to home helps you save precious travel time. You’ll also save hundreds of dollars in airfare and registration fees, by paying only $20/CME hour. Now that’s what we call a real bargain.

You’ll Get Almost Your Entire Years’ Worth of CME in Just One Weekend! Where else can you get almost all your yearly CME hours, SAM credits that count towards your Self-Assessment (SA-CME) requirements for Maintenance of Certification, Modality credits for accreditation purposes, and the Texas-required Ethics credit all in one weekend? And, we’re now providing RLI credits for those of you pursuing your certification in the ACR’s Radiology Leadership Institute.

You’ll Have Fun Even While You Learn! The TRS meeting offers you a great avenue to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, to make new friends, and to meet potential new employers/partners. We offer you a friendly and relaxed environment where making connections and sharing information and ideas will come to you naturally and comfortably. This might even be the perfect excuse for a family vacation, with the lodging, meals and attractions already pre-planned for you by the TRS!

Modality Accreditation Program CreditsThe CME obtained from our program also counts toward CME requirements for various modality accreditation programs. A separate CME form will be provided for calculating CME hours for modality accreditation purposes.

Radiology Leadership InstituteCourses indentified as “RLI Credit” on the program are under review by the ACR to receive RLI credit.

Physicists MEP Credits The TRS has applied to the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs, Inc. (CAMPEP) for the approval of up to 20 Medical Education for Physicists (MEP) credit hours for the Diagnostic Radiology Program.

Educational ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this program, Diagnostic Radiology program attendees should be able to: Review and assess innovative concepts in pediatrics, interventional, abdominal, chest and breast imaging. Review new concepts in imaging and radiotherapy in their practice of radiology. Discuss appropriateness of ethics in the practice of medicine. Identify new trends in healthcare management, and know how they will impact their practice and the patient.

Target Audience & Program StructureThe primary target audience of the program consists of Diagnostic Radiologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and residents and fellows in training. The educational program will be executed in a classroom style format, with didactic lectures supplemented with audiovisual presentations, case presentations with interactive audience response technology, and question and answer discussions.
