RMS
October 16, 2002
Activities Currently Supported by TTPT
These are the primary activities supported by TTPT. TTPT participants include TDSPs, Affiliate CRs, Independent CRs, Vendors, PUCT Staff representatives, ERCOT Market Testing Team and ERCOT Client Relations.
Activities• TTPT Supporting 2002 Market Testing Flights and activities • v1.5 activities to support Market Testing• Muni/Coop efforts - Specific to Nueces, San Patricio, STEC• Outage “Proof of Concept” testing and documentation• Changes in data transport mechanisms with ERCOT • ETOD debugging in progress (867 and 650 maps)• Supporting New CRs entering the Market• Monitoring Market changes in order to include Market change in
Testing Documentation and participate as necessary.
TTPT Activities Supporting 2002 Market Testing Flights
Since the last TTPT Update to RMS, TTPT has supported three Market Test Flights for 2002
Flight 0702 - Completed in early AugustFlight 0902 - Completed in early OctoberFlight 1102 - In Progress - expected to be completed in December
Participants in these Flights…• CRs brand new to the Market• Existing CRs participating in a new TDSP territory• Existing CRs adding new business processes• Re-testing participants (change in systems, service providers,
party requesting to retest a particular process)
Participants of the Market Testing Flights!
Flight 0702 Participants 4 CRs, 4 TDSPs, ERCOT
Flight 0902 Participants3 CRs, 4 TDSPs, ERCOT
Flight 1102 Participants5 CRs, 6 TDSPs, ERCOT
In addition to these Flights, TTPT has supported re-testing for 4 CRs. These re-testing efforts have involved ERCOT and associated TDSPs.

TTPT Supporting Market Testing Flights
Prior to each Flight, TTPT hosts a Market Orientation meetings for parties interested in participating in a Flight. The intent at thesemeetings is to help pre-pare Testing Participants. Presentations include... • TTPT - presents a Market overview• TTPT - presents Market Testing Scripts for the Flight• TTPT - presents an Overview of Market Testing Process & Requirements• ERCOT - presents Pre-testing timeline, ETOD scripts, ETOD demo, helpful resources• ERCOT - presents “The Role of ERCOT”• PUCT - presents “PUCT Market Requirements”• TTPT, PUCT, and ERCOT all support “Deadline for Signing Up”
TTPT members, ERCOT Market Testing Team, and ERCOT Client Relations all worktogether to ensure the administration of the Flight is as successful as possible in orderfor the Flight to complete as quickly as possible. In addition to documentation a “Contact” list has been established to assist with quickresponse to support Testing Participants to be used during the Flight.
TTPT Activities Supporting v1.5 Testing
• Participating in the v1.5 Implementation Team activities• Updated existing Market Testing documentation to ensure v1.5processes are
included.• Creating Test scripts supporting TX SET v1.5• Monitoring TX SET Change Controls in order to adjust scripts and testing
documentation as needed• Responding to v1.5 Market Participants as needed• Updated F.A.Q.s on the Retail Testing web-site and held a F.A.Q. testing
workshop to include new F.A.Q.s• Developed and maintain v1.5 Market Testing Flight Timeline• Working with ERCOT and Market Participants to ensure Testing concerns are addressed.
These concerns include…
Concerns noted for Testing v1.5!
“Will an ITPTA be retained to assist with testing v1.5?”TTPT recommends that some “Independent” involvement for the v1.5 Flight would be helpful. TTPT is working with ERCOT management to transition Market Testing Flight processes currently owned by the TTPTChair to another Party. TTPT is also preparing documentation to assistwith this transition.
“Will the Testing Fee be charged for the v1.5 Flight? If charged will thefee be used to fund an ITPTA if one is retained?”Once a Market Participant has paid to test, there are not additional chargesfor testing. The Testing fee has been funding ETOD development and costs associated with an ITPTA. Currently there is not an ITPTA butETOD development has continued and is “on going”.At this time it is unknown whether the testing fee will change, remain thesame, or be eliminated for 2003 Testing Participants. Once this is determined, TTPT will assist in communicating this information.
Concerns Continued
“Since all certified Retail Market Participants are going to be a testingParticipant in the v1.5 Flight, and some new Market Participants willalso be testing, and the testing process includes all Market Participantsadvancing together, are there some processes being developed to assistwith ensuring Frames can advance and we are not delayed?”Yes, some of these processes include…•“Testing Tracks” - A testing track is specifically created to assist each Participant to tests processes relevant to their business process.•Scripts and simulated dates have been structured to support Existing Market Participants to complete v1.5 certification testing earlier than New Market Participants.
“Once a delay in advancing frames is experienced, will there be a processto address the testing participant that continues to delay the advancingof Frames for others?”Yes, currently there is a document that addresses this concern. The “Escalation Process” is used if this situation is encountered.
Concerns Continued
“Will ETOD be used for the v1.5 Flight?”Currently ETOD is used in every Market Testing Flight since the currentprocess identifies all Testing Participants send their transactions toETOD for validation. TTPT is working with the ERCOT Market Testing Team to ensure1.5 transaction maps are completed and “debugged” in ETOD as soon as possible.
“Will TDSPs currently using ETOD as their primary testing tool beable to rely upon ETOD for v1.5 or will it be necessary for all partiesto complete “End to End” testing?”TTPT is working with the PUCT to review processes included in v1.5.It may be the recommendation of TTPT and the PUCT that some“End to End” testing should be supported by all 6 TDSPs. All 6 TDSPswill be included in the review and the recommendation.

TTPT Activities Supporting Muni-Coops
A TTPT Sub-team has been formed to assist “Opt in” entities to prepare for Market Testing Flight v1.5.
The Sub-Team is continuing to meet with Nueces, San Patricio, and STEC to ensure these entities can succeed once the Testing Flight begins.
Due to the difference in billing models, Test Scripts have beendeveloped specifically for to test these processes for these entities.

Outage “Proof of Concept”
TTPT has been involved with this Team to ensure successful completion for Testing. TTPT is now working with this team to ensure documentation is sufficient for Market Participantunderstanding for those choosing to implement.
TTPT is assisting in developing Market Testing scripts for CRs andTDSPs implementing this Market Standard to support testing Electronic notification for Outage - “Option 1”.
Some documentation will be available on the Retail Testing web-site.
Market Changes involving data transport mechanisms with ERCOT
TTPT Supporting https (FTP Replacement) and GISB v1.4 Activities
TTPT has completed work with TDTWG and ERCOT to developMarket Test scripts supporting these testing mechanisms. Thesescripts are available on the Retail Testing Web-site.
Since FTP is no longer available for new Market Participants, ERCOT & the TTPT is assisting new Testing Participants in understanding requirements for implementing https or GISB v1.4 for communication with ERCOT.
ETOD Debugging
ETOD is complete with all 814 maps and some additional transactions. In order to support development of ETOD and ensurethe additional maps being added to ETOD are correct, TTPT andexisting Market Participants are working through a ETOD debuggingeffort.
These Participants are concluding “debugging” 867 maps.
650 01, 02 debugging processes have recently begun.
In addition to v1.5 Maps, additional maps will be added to ETOD toinclude all transactions used in the Texas Market.
