Another machine is a seed drill; it makes holes in the ground, then it drops seeds into them. It may even drop a small amount of fertilizer with each seed. Farmers with very large farms sometimes use planes to plant seed. They also use planes to spray chemical onto the rice fields. When harvest time comes they also use a machine called a ‘combine’ to cut the rice. It also separates the rice kernels from the stalks.
