Established in 1959 at Mussoorie (now in Uttarakhand), the Lal Bahadur Shastri Natioademy of Administration (LBSNAA) is the apex training institution for probationary officers of the All India Services and Central Services (Group A). It provides professional training to regular recruits to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) as well as in-service training to middle/senior IAS officers and State Civil Service officers promoted to the IAS. It also conducts training of trainers in decentralized planning and training methodologies.
