    Servlet Flags & Debug Messages

    1  Overview

In Servlet Manager each servlet has its own set of messages that can be displayed to aid in system

management and trouble shooting. The different messages can be selected from the Servlet option in the

Menu Bar. The menu will be populated with the options related to the currently selected servlet.

Within the Servlet  menu there are two generic options for every

servlet, Start and Stop. These allow the selected servlet to be stopped

and/or started indipendantly of the other servlets and TriggerFish

Services as a whole. While a servlet is running the Start option will be

greyed out and when the servlet is stopped the stop  button will be

    greyed out.

In the following sections each servlet and its corresponding flags will be gone

through separately with example outputs from each. A servlet message will be

displayed when a black tick is displayed next to the message. If there is no tick

the message will not be displayed.

    2  Real-Time Decoder

The Real-Time Decoder  handles all the real time messages

coming into the system. It receives its messages from the gravel

decoder and then passes them on into hydra to be used for

    example by the position calculator.

The Real-Time Decoder has four servlet flag options:

Show Messages In  – Shows the type and source of real time messages that are coming into the

    Real-Time Decoder.

Example:echo Data from: Decoder Unit: Unit Id: 444 Card Id: 2echo Data from: Decoder Unit: Unit Id: 444 Card Id: 2echo Data from: Decoder Unit: Unit Id: 444 Card Id: 2gyro Data from: Decoder Unit: Unit Id: 444 Card Id: 1

gps Data from: Decoder Unit: Unit Id: 444 Card Id: 3

Show Timing  – Shows the timing of messages in the format:[Type] U:[System Time (HH:MM:SS)] S:[Hydra Time (HH:MM:SS)] ([Time Difference]) : [Vessel

    Node] [UTC]

    Example:Gps U:13:31:36 S:13:31:36 (0.0): C-Nav 916493496.8Echo U:13:21:06 S:13:31:37 (630.4): Echo1 916492866.7Echo U:13:21:06 S:13:31:37 (630.4): Echo1 916492866.8Gyro U:13:21:07 S:13:31:37 (630.4): Gyro1 916492867.4

Show Data  – Displays the decoded data from each input the node to which it is connected. Extra

information is given about the GPS signal including the time it came into the system, its latency and

    age of correction.

    Example:GPS source A39A76AD-C05B-4D2E-837958E06ECCDA2BUTC:916496745.8Latency 4.1 4.114:25:45: Gps 6° 38' 0.940"S 12° 6' 39.314"E -1.0 C-Nav14:15:20: Echo 71.3 Echo114:15:20: Echo 67.9 Echo114:15:20: Gyro 229.2 Gyro1

Duplicates  – If any duplicate messages are received by the system the type of duplicate message

    will be displayed.

    Example:Duplicated gps messageDuplicated gps message

    Duplicated gyro messageDuplicated gps message

a decoder card in System Editor where the raw messages are displayed. This option does not

display any messages in the Gravel Controller window.

    6  Autopilot Controller

Calculates and creates the messages to be sent the vessels

autopilot unit. Messages are sent to external units via the gravel

    controller.

The Autopilot Controller has 4 flag options:

Show Debug  – Shows general messages about the audopilot and system, including if the vessel

config has changed, the tasks that are being tracked in transit and if the autopilot command has

    been received.

Example:Config changedAutopilot settings changedSending Turn TaskGeneral Data Receivedracking Shooting Task in Transit

Show Position  – Shows the position of the vessel reference, the offset in the X any Y directions, the

position of the node auto pilot is steering to, the final distance to the preplot line, the distance off

line to the specified offset and the nautical miles conversion of the distance off line.

    Example:Vessel Reference : 369289.7 7537474.1Offset : 0.9 0.0Node Position : 369289.7 7537474.1Final Distance 19.999737 Distance off line 9.999737 Nm 0.005Vessel Reference : 369291.8 7537476.0Offset : 0.9 0.0Node Position : 369291.8 7537476.0Final Distance 20.005502 Distance off line 10.005502 Nm 0.005

    7  Header Broadcast

Responsible for broadcasting the nav header to the recording

system on a streamer vessel via either UDP or serial connectionand is also responsible for encoding the message in the expected

    format.

The Header Broadcast has 1 flag option:

Dump Header  – this option dumps the headers to C:/Headers/[linename].bin. These headers can

then be viewed using notepad. It does not show any extra messages in the Header Broadcast

    servlet.

    8  Scouting Controller

Controls any scouting tasks including the creation of log files.

The Scouting Controller has 2 flag options:

Show Debug  – Gives information about the start and end of logging as well as if any configuration
