Therefore, it is expected that a PE kit is in school at all times.

This should include:

group• A pair of shorts• A pair of tracksuit bottoms or leggings• A spare pair of socks• A zip-up jumper or hoodie.

Homework

Throughout the year Learn spellings weekly, according to children will be spelling rules and the year group lists. expected to: Monday – Friday.

Learn times tables up to 12 x 12. Practise 15 times per month.

Read – Hear your child at least four times a week and sign the reading record.Reading records are checked every Friday.

Complete a weekly Maths task.Homework is sent home on Monday and returned on Thursday

In Year 5, our challenge is for everychild to achieve 200 reads at home.

Increased independence

Seesaw• St Francis will be using Seesaw as a means

of communicating between school and home regarding your child’s progress.

• This was successfully trialled in several classes last year.

• A letter will be given to all parents and carers explaining all about the online app and how to sign up.

In preparation for your child’s application for secondary school, you may wish to visit secondary schools in the local area.We have issued a schedule for all open evenings and mornings in 2019.Additional open mornings will occur in the summer term, 2020.Should you wish to remove your child from school to attend these session, please email [email protected] and let your class teacher know.
