Why are we investing in our billing capabilities?

• Improved quality of billing services with a clearer invoice format for our customers

• Increased billing options based on customer preferences• Self-service access portal (later in 2019) for all invoicing information

• Standardisation and Harmonisation of billing, rating and charging parameters• Alignment of your services across Inmarsat

Following feedback from our customers a number of strategic initiatives are underway to drive investment across the organisation to improve the service Inmarsat customers and partners receive.

The OneIT programme, a Business-led IT improvement initiative, aims to make it easier for our customers to work with us. As part of this, Billing was highlighted early as a key area for investment that would have a direct and positive impact on our customers

• In June 2019 you will start receiving your new improved invoice format for all Products and Services (aside from GX) - Service,

installation, equipment and freight charges. This will include consolidation of multiple invoices where business rules allow

• Your new invoice will be sent to you by email as a PDF attachment from [email protected]. The new invoice

format will no longer be available on our portals, however invoice copies can be requested from our customer support team by

emailing [email protected]

• A guide to the new invoice (‘Know Your Invoice’) is available on our website: www.Inmarsat.com/billingupgrades; which

provides details of all the Invoice sections

• Along side your new invoice format a new Detailed Invoice Report (DIR) will also be available. As part of previous

communication we shared a link to our ‘DIR Improvements’ specification document on www.Inmarsat.com/billingupgrades

• Should you request this, the DIR will be sent to you as a link in an email. For security purposes a username and password

will be required, this will be shared with you in a separate email

• Rated CDRs will now be sent in D91 or CSV format. All information currently received in different formats, will be in the new

format going forward

How does CDR rationalisation benefit you?

Reduced number of CDR feeds you receive from us

Reduced number of CDR formats to reduce the complexity of managing multiple formats. Two distinct formats: CSV & D91

Improved customer experience when CDR changes occurs – reduced number of changes required to your systems when Inmarsat introduces new products or services

Depending on the type of CDR format you have previously recorded this could mean:

New attribute fields providing you with further information

A change to the format of certain fields

A change to the file naming convention used for your CDR files

A change to the Data Codes used as part of your CDR

What will not change?

Whilst the format of your CDR may change, with further information included, all information you currently receive will continue to be available

• We are currently undergoing Cutover where we will be deploying the service upgrades. During this time there is intermittent disruption and outages to certain systems

• Created/ updated service requests from provisioning platforms (BGAN & Iridium dashboards and others) will be held until the completion of the deployment (but will proceed to the network). Some will appear as ‘Failed Billing’ or in a ‘Pending’ state

We would encourage you to avoid new activation requests unless critical during this window

• You will receive duplicated rated CDR feeds. CDR feeds will initially be sent in the existing format from the first day of the month until the deployment of system changes is completed. From the 18th of May you will receive the new CDR format as well as a catch up for the full month of CDRs (1st to 17th May) in the new format

• Please note there may be additional outages beyond communicated depending on progress

No impact to the network with services continuing to be provisioned to be used by customers

Customers will experience certain service outages during the deployment of the new systems to support the improvements previously discussed

• These changes will predominantly affect your Accounts Payable teams, onward billing services and potentially some of the datarequired in your IT systems. Therefore we are aiming to reach your Finance/ Accounting Manager as well as your IT teams who specialise in billing/ accounting services

• Should there be individuals and teams who need further information within your own organisation then please do not hesitate to share the information we have communicated to you so far

• We are communicating using several mediums to ensure we engage with you appropriately. This has included ‘early warning’ and ‘detailed’ emails, through this Webinar, messages via Dashboards, documents available to download on our webpage, and furtherdetailed information also on our webpage
