Businesses often experience hard times because of details that were not predicted. A workshop was held Wed., Nov. 14, to address some of the issues that confront business owners. The Eastern Business in Action Forum was held at Northeastern Junior College addressing several topics from the state budget to marketing and personnel. He addressed the impact of issues such as the TABOR amendment, the Gallagher Amendment and the state of Colorado’s budget. He illustrated the business in eastern Colorado with a triangle, the three points separately identifying economy, energy and the environment. The energy point was a discussion on wind, gas and oil energy impact in northeast Colorado, and the environment point focused on natural reserves, food, water, and air. He said Northeast Colorado will always have the environment. The question is “where do you fit in?” Sterling attorney Alex Wright lead the first session, talking about what businesses need to know to prevent a legal conflict.
