Steiner had a dream in 1919 that Waldorf Schools would arise in response to the needs of the time and it seems to me that in a world that is increasingly complex, accessible Waldorf Schools have never been more needed. We would like to honour the impulse that a Waldorf Education is open for everyone not just for the families able to donate up to the recommended amount. It is for this reason that the WST chooses to ask for a pledged donation that can be given freely, for the benefit of all tamariki in our community. Freely given is the key to making the WST’s intentions a reality. Each year at this time we ask you to consciously consider your relationship to the Waldorf education we are creating together. We ask you to let us know whether you intend to maintain your child/ren’s enrolment in the year ahead. And we ask you to consider how and what you will contribute in 2020, to develop and maintain the foundations that were gifted to you and your children, by the Founders and parents who came before you. Their gifts are still providing for today’s community and we all can enjoy the benefits. It is the WST’s endeavour to keep developing the land and programmes with the gifts from the community. This is best achieved with some planning and foresight. We therefore ask you to return your pledge form. Your indication of support will allow us to budget and to make informed decisions about programmes we can offer as well as further developments of this beautiful site. Please return your completed form by 25 th of October Yours truly, Stephen Lane Chair Waldorf Schools (Bay of Plenty) Trust

THANKFULLY RECEIVED GIFTS FROM THE PAST –

GIVING FREELY IN THE PRESENT FOR THE FUTURE

Kia ora Whanau

2019 was the year we celebrated 100 years of Waldorf education.

Please return your completed form by 25th of October Yours truly,

Stephen Lane

Special Character Re-Commitment Form Children’s Name/s: ___________________________________________________________ At the heart of the Tauranga Waldorf School Special Character is the principle of shared responsibility and community partnership. Special Character preference, the legal grounds for my child/ren’s enrolment in the school is expressed therefore in my commitment to actively support the delivery of a Waldorf education for all tamariki of the community in the following ways:

7 Core Actions That Express My Commitment to Special Character Please confirm by ticking

£ Using the school’s communication protocols and pathways -in order to develop, sustain and model for the children, positive relationships and partnership with all class teachers, co-workers, the College of Teachers and wider Tauranga Waldorf School community.

£ Attending class parent evenings and teacher-parent interviews - to learn about creating the conditions needed for all the children of the community to receive a Waldorf Education. In the event of being unable to attend, I’ll submit an apology and read minutes.

£ Reading the school newsletter, class and office communications - as a means of being informed about parent meetings and other important school events.

£ Respond to requests from class liaison parents where able - to support working bees, outings, camps, cleaning of classrooms during holidays.

£ Support school festivals - by ensuring that children are dressed as requested and set up to meet requirements of attendance, behaviour and participation.

£ Support the Annual Fair and Open Day - by participating in and helping to make a success.

£ Commit to an annual pledged contribution - identifying money and/or deeds which I intend to contribute over the next year and agree to communicate about any difficulties I have upholding this commitment.

I confirm my child/ren’s continued enrolment in the school over the next 12 months and my continued preference for and support of the schools Special Character.
