Supplies you will need: 1 wide-mouth (1-quart) smooth canning Ball jar (I got mine at Hobby Lobby craft store) wash and completely dry inside. 1 piece of any fabric cut into a 9-inch diameter circle. 1 each 36” piece of ribbon or twine (your choice). Dry ingredients per Jar: 1 cup sugar 1 cup chopped pecans 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 1/2 teaspoon salt 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1-3/4 cups flour Measuring cups (for measuring above ingredients). Spoon (for packing down each layer in the jar). 1 sheet plain copy paper (20 or 24 lb. bond) for printing out the Gift Tag. Hole punch for adding the Gift Tag to the Jar. Instructions: 1. Start by adding the sugar to your jar. I just spooned it in, or you can use a funnel if you have one. Or make a funnel out of a piece of paper. Pack the sugar layer down with the spoon. 2. Next layer the pecans and then the brown sugar, spreading it out and packing it down each time. 3. Mix together the cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, salt and baking soda. Then add this mixture as your next layer. 4. Put in the final layer, the flour, and pack down. Put on the lid and seal. 5. Print out the Free Gift Tag attached. Make sure to sign your name and personalize the bottom of the tag. 6. Place the fabric on top of the jar and tie the twine around the lid to hold it in place. I usually wrap it around a couple of times and then tie a bow in the front. You can decorate with paper flowers, or any other decorations from the craft store, if you want. 7. Punch a hole in the upper right hand corner of the tag and attach it to the jar with twine. Once sealed, if stored in a cool dry place, the mixture should last for 3 months, assuming you have fresh ingredients. We really appreciate you following along with Culinary Envy! Happy Cooking!
