June 2, 2012 Edition 137 From your Director Good to see you all on Wednesday, big thanks to Fy for all the organising that you put in prior. Next Week: We will continue revising the songs for our St Mary’s sing out coming up on the 28th of this month. The next three songs on the list are Java Jive, Straighten Up and Come Fly. Enjoy the long weekend everyone. Gill From your Team Coordinator Thank you to everyone for your considered thoughts and comments during Wednesday night's membership planning session, hopefully everyone felt involved and informed. Good luck to all as we start our individual searches for venues and opportunities to sing in and around Taranaki. For the benefit of those away, having gone through our survey results we discussed how we could best use the information to gain members. The primary objective agreed was to increase sing out opportunities and gain better exposure; whilst doing so to have flyers available which clearly advertise our group. The flyer/advert to include what we do, what is available (what you get) when you come along, the fact that you don't have to read music and that there are 4 different voice parts- more suited to many. It was also suggested that this would be an ideal way to give notice of either a set of education sessions or specific new person night or workshop (to be decided). Several strategies were put forward to help new visitors feel welcomed, included and less overwhelmed. The issue of passive and active advertising came up and several ideas put forward to help with an advertising campaign in the future.
