B.Voc in Dialysis Technology

The primary goal of B.Voc in Dialysis Technology Program is to train accomplished professionals in Dialysis

Technology with a specific emphasis on clinical skills, technical knowledge which will enable them to function

as independent dialysis professionals. All students acquire the knowledge and procedural skills necessary to

deliver a high standard of care to the patients with chronic kidney disease requiring renal replacement therapy.

Course Detail

± Classroom Teaching :

one day a week will be dedicated to theory sessions and interaction with the experts.

± Practical hands on training :

Students will be placed for practical hands-on training five days in a week during the course duration at

the dialysis centers of Apex Kidney Care (AKC) and other associate centers of AKC.

Eligibility

± HSC (Science) or equivalent.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences

Apex School of dialysis technology (ASDT) is the Education and training department of Apex

Kidney Care (AKC). It was formed in 2010 with the aim of training students into becoming

dialysis technicians apart from providing continued education to practicing dialysis

technicians both in-house and those working in other hospitals and institutes across the

country.

It has an excellent infrastructure in terms of the equipment for training including the state of the art dialysis

machines, water treatment plants, reprocessing machines, computerized patient database, etc. Students have

access to all the centers of AKC, which are spread across various cities in India. AKC is vertical Anchor for Dialysis

Technology for Tata Institute of Social Sciences - School of Vocational Education (TISS- SVE).

ASDT faculty comprises of eminent professionals from the field of nephrology, vascular surgery, dialysis

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936, as the Dorabji Tata Graduate

School of Social Work, the first school of social work in India. It was renamed to its current name

in 1944. It was declared Deemed to be a University in 1964 by the University Grants Commission of

India.

TISS has earned recognition as an institution of repute from different Ministries of the Government of India and

various State Governments, as well as international agencies such as the United Nations, and the non-

government sector, both national and international.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences has set up the School of Vocational Education (SVE). The School has been

incorporated to spearhead the Vocational Training envisaged in the initiative proposed by the Ministry of HRD,
