The 2nd Annual Heritage Woods Science Fair

General Description Each team may have a maximum of 2 registered students. Acceptance into the Science Fair will be based on a written description of your project. All grades and all students are welcome. Deadline for registration is November 1 2017. The event will occur in January. Workshops will be offered on creating and presenting science projects. Please visit Mr. Ciardullo’s webpage for all information: mrciardullo.weebly.com Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. An annual trophy will be presented to the overall winning team and will be displayed in the Science Wing. The combined score of a team is the average of the scores from the Science Fair Official Judges. A scoring rubric is attached for your team to familiarize yourselves with the expectations of the judges.

Interpretation of Rules Presentations that do not comply with the spirit and intent of the rules will be disqualified from the Science

Fair. The ruling of the judges is final.

Rules Each team will be given a presentation board. The teams are required to provide written and visual evidence of their experiment on the presentation board, as well as framing the problem, experimental design, results and analysis. Furthermore, research and sourcing will be a vital aspect of your presentation. Be sure to include any and all sources. At the event, all teams will present their project (time allotted is 5min max) followed by a 5 minutes question period by the judges.

All sources need appropriate citing.

Zero tolerance for plagiarism.
