The Four Little Butterflies

Written and Illustrated by Brittany Curtis

There once were four little butterflies who were all brothers and sisters. They were all different colors from one another and each one was very special in their own way.

One day when all the butterflies where playing it started to rain. The butterflies were beginning to get their wings all wet. We need to find shelter! said the blue butterfly.

So the butterflies flew straight home to find shelter and to get dry, but there door was locked. They knocked and they knocked, but their mother could not hear them because the rain was too loud.

The Butterflies knew they had to find shelter quickly before the rain damaged their wings. What are we going to do? cried out the pink butterfly.

"We can go ask the flowers if we can barrow there peddles for shelter until the rain stops!" said the orange butterfly. So the butterflies flew over to an orange and yellow daisy and asked for shelter. The Daisy responded, "Only the orange and yellow butterfly can stay under my peddles because theyre the same color as me, but not the blue and pink butterflies.

The orange and yellow butterfly responded by saying, "well if my brothers and sister who are a different color cant stay under your peddles then we choose not to either. So the butterflies went on their way to go and ask another flower.

The butterflies came across Blue and Pink Tulips. The Blue butterfly asked, May we barrow your peddles for shelter until the rain stops? Our wings are getting wet and we have nowhere to go. The tulips responded, You and the pink butterfly may stay here because you are the same color as us, but the orange and yellow butterflies may not.

The Blue and Pink butterfly responded by saying, well if our brother and sister who are a different color cant stay, we choose to not either. And the butterflies went on their way to go and find another place where there was shelter.

They came across a yellow and pink Sunflower. They asked her if they could barrow her pedels for shelter and she responded, Only the pink and yellow butterflies can barrow my pedels because they are the same color as me. They pink and yellow butterflies responded, If my brother and sister who are a different color cant, then we choose to not either.

The butterflies were beginning to lose hope. They had nowhere to go to get away from the rain. Their wings were getting very wet and they began to cry.

The Sun had been watching over the little butterflies though. He had seen how close and strong they were. He knew they cared a lot about one another and would always stick together no matter what.

So the Sun decided to come out and clear away the rain for the little butterflies. He helped them dry their wings and told them how proud he was of the way they all stuck together.

He promised them that if they were ever in trouble again to go and find the Rainbow. The rainbow accepts all colors no matter what they look like. The Rainbow would keep them safe. The butterflies were very grateful and thanked the sun.
