  • Feet parallel and shoulder width apart Front foot slightly ahead of back (toe-instep) Your stance arrow, the arrow pointing perpendicularly out of the arch of your back foot, should be pointing at your target. Weight concentrated on the inside ball of your back foot and inside of knee. Look over front shoulder which is pointed at your receiver. Hold ball in both hands, relaxed, and a few inches away from your body at your back pec, just like holding a baseball bat. Elbows down, shoulders level and loose.   • 5-4-3-1-2 Index finger is the last finger to leave the ball. It is the guide finger (pusher finger) Provides last push on ball and determines its attitude in flight. Properly = ball flies with nose slightly upward and to the right (right handed passer) because of the pressure you have exerted on the tail of the ball. Pressure should be downward and in as hand completes motion across body.

  • Finish the throw ON BALANCE with your back foot ahead of your front and everything still and balanced. You can only do this if you utilize your left arm to produce torque and power out of the throw. We always want our throwing shoulder pointed at the target and our back leg to come thru.
