Dear Friends,

Thank you to all of you who have participated in our Parish Family Photo Album. What a great way to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the dedication of our Church.

This is a good time for us to remember and give thanks to all the ways that the Lord has blessed us. First and foremost we should give thanks for Fr. McLaughlin who was the pastor responsible for building this Church and beautiful grounds around it. It is also a time to remember and give thanks to the men and women who helped to make this Church a reality. We thank Msgr. Fitzgerald who had the elevator built so that parish-ioners could enter the church even if they were physically handicapped.

The past, however, is only one part of our story. It is you, our parishioners who fill our church today who continue to write the history of our parish life. You breathe life into a brick building so that it truly be-comes the home of the people of God. It is the place where we celebrate the Sacraments at important times in our lives. It is where we gather each week to participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by listening to the Word of God proclaimed and receiving the Holy Eucharist. This Church is our home where we celebrate our Catholic faith.

May Our Lady of Good Counsel continue to intercede for us in order that we might receive all the bless-ings we need from God our Father.
