LANGUAGE:English is the official language of the Conference and is the most commonly foreign language spoken in Egypt

ELECTRICITY:Electricity supply in Egypt is 220 volt AC

TIME ZONE:Time zone in Egypt is (GMT+2)

CURRENCY:The Egyptian pound is the official currency for the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Automated teller machines (ATMs):You can make cash withdrawals from bank ATMs in Egypt at any time of day or night using Egyptian or foreign Master cards. (ATMs) are common throughout Cairo and Alexandria, less so in smaller cities and nearly impossible to find in rural Egypt.

The exchange rate you get may vary from machine to machine. All of them will charge a slight fee for the conversion

Credit cards:Credit cards are accepted at the vast majority of hotels, restaurants, shops and filling stations. To find out whether your credit card is accepted, please check the logos on display at the entrance to the premises before attempting to make a payment.

WEATHER:Alexandria has a temperate climate with the overall weather being very mild. The weather is often extremely hot during the day time with temperatures dipping to much cooler levels at night.

The seasons in Alexandria are split into two main seasons of winter that starts in November and ends in April and summer that starts in May and ends in October. Winter in Alexandria tends to be fairly mild, with temperatures during the summer months being considerably hotter.

NAME BADGES:Upon registration you will receive the printed material of the conference and your name badge. Please wear your name badge at all times. It is your official pass to meeting sessions.

VISAS:Participants from certain countries may require a visa in order to travel to Egypt. Participants are requested to check with their local Egyptian Consulate/Embassy well in advance of their travel date. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa as necessary.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE:Your certificate of attendance will be issued onsite at the registration desk on the 4th of October 2019 after 3:00 pm

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:Delegates who have special dietary requests (i.e. Vegetarians) please make yourself known to one of our operations’ staff member before catering times. If you couldn’t reach an operations’ staff member, please advise the staff at the Registration Desk to make arrangements where possible. (please communicate this information at least 2 hours prior to the meal time)

DRESS CODE:The dress code for the meeting sessions is informal whereas for meeting dinners it is casual or smart casual.

MOBILE PHONES: As a courtesy to fellow delegates and speakers, please ensure your mobile phones are switched off during meeting sessions.

LOST PROPERTY:Please report all lost or found property to staff at the Registration Desk.

SMOKING POLICY: Tolip Hotel is a non-smoking environment. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all enclosed public spaces of the hotel inclusive of the exhibition halls, foyers and meeting rooms.
