Every child in India has the right to food, education, health, and a chance to fulfill their dreams
Gross Enrollment Ratio ( GER) for all persons in elementary
education increased from 81.6% in 2000-01 to 96.9% in 2014-15. GER
for boys increased by 4.5% and girls by 26.4%
Public expenditure on education as % of GDP has gone up from
3.34% in 2005-06 to 4.13% in 2013-14
During 2005-06 to 2014-15 substantial progress has been achieved towards
gender parity as revealed in Gender Parity Index ( GPI)

Scheme in Government & Government - aided schools.

Public Private Partnership Model
Akshaya Patra operates in a Public Private Partnership Model under the auspice of The Government of India and 12 State Governments.
The Government supports us by providing Grain and Cash Subsidies to successfully implement the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.

Educational outcomes
• MDM is first meal of the day for near 2/3rd of the children - 72% TAPF students get stomach full of meal everyday
• Mid-day meal program is an incentive for bringing 9 out of 10 children in school every school day
• Schools reported a dropout rate of only 2% in the year of 2016-17, a significant dip from previous years
• Social Equity: Mid-day Meal program has helped to bring more number of SC, ST and Minority students to school
• Improved Academic Performance: Nutritious meal has improved the attention span and students have performed better in their annual exam and academics
• Nearly 45% children in Telangana schools between std III to VII scored >80% marks in annual exams. Performance of girl children was much better compared to boys
• Favourite Food: Rice or rice based food i.e. curd rice, lemon rice, biryani, fried rice and Pulses -Daal were reported as most favourite items in school

b) Promotion of Education
NGO should be a registered Trust or Society or a Company
Akshaya Patra is registered under Indian Trust Act 1882
NGO should have an established track record of more than 3 years
Akshaya Patra has more than 15 years of established track Record
Akshaya Patra would provide periodic reports as per the Donor requirements to meet the CSR compliance of Donors
