The ASP website has undergone a dynamic change. Phcog.org now has a colorful new look with beautiful photos and an exciting new layout! ASP’s website designer and ASP Past President Dr. Bill Baker’s graduate student, Mr. Jeremy Beau, tells the Newsletter how he conceptualized and built ASP’s new online image.
TheASPbegan thewebpage redesignproject to update the lookandfeel,advancethefunctionality,andre-investigatetheuserflowofthesite.Thesiteneededtobemademoredynamicandmoremanageable.WhilemanyattheASPfeltthattheoriginalsitewaseasytonavigate,theconsensuswithnewcomerswasthatitwasnotsointuitive,andthatitdidnotencouragerepeatviewing. As a natural products chemist and web designer, I became veryinterestedinworkingonthisproject.Beforethis,Ihadworkedwithseveralorganizations to help them better understand their web presence andimplement improvements. Thus, I created a proposal for the new face oftheASPwebsite.Dr.BillBaker,myadvisor, introducedmeandpassedtheproposaltotheASPExecutiveCommittee.ThememberswereenthusiasticaboutmyideasandIwasselectedtobeginthework.
