What is ACES? ACES(APEC Cooperation for

Earthquake Simulation) project was endorsed at the APEC ISTWG Meeting in Singapore on October 1st, 1997.

Main purpose of the ACES project is to understand the earthquake and tsunami generation mechanism in Asia Pacific region.

One of the main activity in the ACES project is the International workshop scheduled every two years.

Objectives of the Project

Develop Science and Technology Network for earthquake and tsunami simulation established by the ACES project in 1997.

Share the state-of-arts technology on earthquake and tsunami simulation among APEC economies.

Establish assimilation technology of numerical modeling for the prediction of future earthquake, tsunami, and other disasters.
