wouldn’t fit it, and an overly macho name would embarrass a true man – it would seem like it’s trying too hard.

• The name, like the truck, is functional, unspectacular.

• Ford’s trusting that its performance will imbue that letter and those numbers with a unique meaning.

How come other buildings don’t have steeples?

• Churches use it for visibility, but every public building wants visibility. You don’t see a McDonald’s with a steeple.

• It reaches towards the heavens.• The slope mimics Jesus’s journey up Calvary,

where the crucifix awaited him.

• Fits perfectly with our image of King. Even when he’s being violent, it’s peaceful in a way. He fights with words and feathers, not bullets.
