SuMmer Art Camp & pre-TeEn Studios 2017
in Haverford
JUNE 12 - AUG. 25ONE WEEK SESSIONS | AGES 4 - 12
The Art of Expl ringNature, Myth
& Magic
Our Art Camp experience is anything but ordinary. During each week-long session, young artists will be introduced to a variety of age-appropriate materials, techniques, and concepts through imaginative projects inspired by the weekly theme and designed to tap into each child’s innate creativity. Creating alongside actual professional artists in actual artist studios, campers will explore
drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry and metals, printmaking, digital media, and more, all while cultivating skills like critical thinking and problem-solving.
On Fridays, it’s time to shine as we celebrate our journey with our new friends at the Art Party and exhibition in the award-winning galleries.
Camp Structure Art Camp for 4 year olds is offered in half days from 9 - 11:45 am. Children ages 5-12 can register for a full day of camp from 9 am-3:30 pm, or half day camp from 9-11:45 am, or 12:45-3:30 pm. Need more coverage? Before care and after care are available to extend the day from 8 am – 6 pm, and lunch care is available for morning half day campers from 11:45 am-12:45 pm.
Camp is broken down into age groups with low teacher-to-student ratios to ensure individualized learning. Our vibe? Supportive, social, encouraging…and most of all fun. It is summer, after all!
The Art of Exploring: Nature, Myth & Magic Long live the curious! From enchanted forests where hobbits and gnomes dwell, to sunken treasure deep under the sea, to the far reaches of space, this year’s theme opens the door to an amazing summer of discovery and art-making. Whether our inspiration is rooted in the natural or supernatural, we’ll uncover new facts about these worlds as we create and make new friends. Each week a new adventure awaits you.

Fabric ArtsBring out your inner-designer as you experiment with fabric, thread, yarn, and other materials. Screenprint your own t-shirt and bags, batik or paint with wax, and design, sew, and build your own costumes. Create art you can wear and feel.
Glass Fusing Let’s melt some glass! Learn how to use glass to explore light, transparency, layering, and color, and create shapes and forms using techniques like kiln carving and slumping. We will create impressive-looking tiles, coasters, small dishes, medallions, and wearable art that you will be proud to say you made yourself.
