AND WHO IS THIS “ THE ASSYRIAN”?

A word search gives us 22 allusions to the Assyrian but only a handful apply to this biblical character. The rest are applicable only to specific individuals who were native to the land of Assyria.

“O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation” Isaiah 10:5

The Assyrian is identified generically as someone used by God as a tool of judgment to someone else(s)

23 For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction. Isaiah 10:23-25

Though sent by God, the Assyrian remains a tool of God and will end up being removed when the will of God determines it so.

Though a tool of judgment of God the Assyrian too will be judged of God for who he is and what he does.

24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: 25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. 26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. Isaiah 14:24-26

Ultimately the Assyrian will fulfill the purposes of God. The chapter content is of the end-times and the context defines the

location of the Assyrians’ defeat, the in mountains of the land of Israel.

Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to Isaiah 23:13

This character is the founder of the land of the Chaldeans. This the Bible says in Genesis 10 occurred right after the Flood and identifies the character as Nimrod, and also Asshur. The Chaldeans founded the place for them that dwell in the wilderness, described in other bible verses as being beasts or demonic spiritual beings.

30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod. Isaiah 30:31

The LORD will smite the Assyrian after that the latter has done his will in bringing judgment upon the guilty.

7 For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin. 8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited. 9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem Is.31:8

The sword the Assyrian is fleeing from is the WORD of God for the Lord Himself will defeat him in the battle of end-times by the word of his power. This context is the battle commonly called Armageddon of Revelation 19.

2 Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent her little rivers unto all the trees of the field. Ezekiel 31:2-4

In context this is a prophecy comparing Pharaoh’s greatness to that of the Assyrian, who was a cedar in Lebanon and of high stature; his height was exalted above all trees (v.5). The Assyrian was of the line of the Giants (as called in the KJV, the BeneHaElohim), alike the hybrid children of Genesis 6, of the sons of God (fallen angels) and the daughters of men who bare children to them.

5 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. Micah 5:1-4This is the key chapter in identifying the Assyrian character in the Bible. The Assyrian in end-times brings a siege to Jerusalem, but out of Beth-lehem comes the ruler in Israel, the eternal One who would respond when called and be triumphant in the LORD GOD (the Father).

5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. Micah 5:5

The man that shall be the peace is none other than Jesus Christ for he is victorious as seen in Revelation 19. Here the Assyrian has gathered the world armies, human, hybrids/mingled peoples, demonic, and together with the False Prophet and Satan are going to fight against the King of kings and Lord of lords. Isaiah 13 complements this chapter describing the doom or burden against Babylon, the base of operation of the Assyrian. The Lord sends the Medes (today’s Kurds of southern Turkey/northern Iraq/western Iran) to destroy Babylon which had not been destroyed ever but had waned away and atrophied. These Medes are the weapons of the Lord’s indignation (Isaiah 13:5), and He comes from the end of heaven (“even the Lord”).

The Assyrian was founder of the land of the Chaldeans, back in history at the end of the Flood. He is a giant or hybrid individual who also will be present at the times of the end. How can that be?

Page 14: “THE ASSYRIAN” IDENTIFYING THE BIBLICAL CHARACTER

6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders. Micah 5:6The Medes as God’s rod, the shepherds and principal men (captains of armies) will overrun the final world ruler’s domain: Babylon. The land of Assyria is said to be the land of Nimrod, the first to defiantly rebel against God when he built a tower to heaven while the nations were still of one language, and became king (Genesis 10:6-12). Nimrod (Asshur) was the very first world ruler and when the identification leads to the Assyrian of end times, it definitely suggests that the first world ruler will also return to be the last world ruler (commonly but not scripturally known as the Antichrist). He is described as a beast in Rev. 13 but is released from the Pit by the losing of the first seal by the Lord Jesus Christ. The seed of the woman of Genesis 3:15, Jesus Christ, against the seed of the Serpent, the Assyrian/Nimrod/beast, up from the sea.

Page 15: “THE ASSYRIAN” IDENTIFYING THE BIBLICAL CHARACTER

So where is the Assyrian today?

Is he roaming the lands of the nations today? If so does he know who he is or what awaits him in the coming world events?

Page 16: “THE ASSYRIAN” IDENTIFYING THE BIBLICAL CHARACTER

Ezekiel 29-32 records 7 oracles against Pharaoh and Egypt. In the 7th oracle (32:17-32) a dirge or lamentation is written of the fate of Pharaoh to go to the the Pit, just like it happened to the Assyrian and where he is to be found in latter days. Revelation 17 records that Mystery Babylon rides the Beast in the first half of the 7 year Tribulation period, and that this beast ascends out of the Bottomless Pit (Rev. 17:8). He is described in Rev. 13:1-8 and his rank and name are found in Rev. 9:11,12 for he is the king of the Abyss and is named Abaddon or Apollyon.

Thus we conclude that the Bible character of the Assyrian, is a code name for the coming world ruler commonly called the Antichrist, the seed of the Serpent and king of the demons. He existed in the past as Nimrod as was his name known prior to the languages being confounded at Babel, but is given now a personal name as Apollo in Revelation 9:11. Extra biblically , one may come to appreciate that in the world of esotericism, a connection may be extended to the date of Sept. 11 as a hidden message of the location of the satanic one that is to come. In this case the terrorism may be connected to a sacrificial offering to the gods.

Page 17: “THE ASSYRIAN” IDENTIFYING THE BIBLICAL CHARACTER

Thus, he is alive today and is in the Bottomless Pit, the king and ruler of these demons in prison. And yes, he will be released during the Tribulation by the Lord Jesus Christ himself when he loses the first seal and allows the Assyrian (commonly known as the Antichrist) by peaceful means to make a 7 year covenant with some in Israel ( a covenant of death). This covenant is the starting point of the 70th Week of Daniel. The Day of the Lord however starts when the Lord Jesus summons his bride home (Rev. 4:1), is given the scroll and begins the process of losing the demonic world powers upon the earth (the 4 horses of the Apocalypse). The very first seal is the losing of the Antichrist. Meanwhile the earth dwellers are calling for, Peace and Safety! having just ended two major wars of Kingdom against Kingdom (two Islamic Confederacies). The Assyrian (Antichrist) will thus be prepared for taking over Mystery Babylon the Great, who rules over the Beast in the first half of the Tribulation and he will have a 42 mo. reign.
