Friday, March 14 Itinerary• 3:00 AM Arrive at AWE• 3:30 AM Depart AWE• 6:30-6:45 First stop Virginia State Line Welcome Center—restroom break• 6:50 AM Distribute breakfast (Pop-Tarts & Juice)• 9:30 AM Snack time on bus-prior to White House arrival• 10:40 AM Arrive at the White House to check in • 11:00-12:00 White House Tour• 12:00-1:00 White House Visitors Center for restroom break and tour• 1:00 Buses pick us up at the White House Visitors Center, everyone eats bagged lunch on the bus on the way to the Museum of Natural History where we will be dropped off • 1:20 Chaperoned group sight seeing. • 4:45 Buses pick up everyone at the Museum of Natural History• 5:00 Hotel check in with Miss Lewis, Ms. Snead, and Ms. Swanner. At this time room keys will be distributed to group chaperones! NO STUDENTS WILL HAVE POSSESSION OF ROOM KEYS AT ANY TIME!• 5:00-6:45 Free relax time in hotel room/Prepare for dinner at Phillip’s Restaurant. All students must be chaperoned AT ALL TIMES!! NO EXCEPTIONS (This includes hallway travel to other rooms, being left in the room or anywhere in the hotel.) NO SWIMMING WILL BE ALLOWED! County Policy.• 6:45 Meet in hotel lobby for departure to dinner.• 7:15-8:15 EAT! Dinner at Phillip’s Seafood Buffet• 8:15 Load buses for night time tour of monuments: Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and drive around National Mall back to the hotel.• 10:00 Arrive back at hotel for personal time…shower, TV, etc.• 11:00 LIGHTS OUT!!!

Saturday, March 15 Itinerary• 6:00-8:00 RISE AND SHINE! Eat free continental breakfast at hotel• 7:30-8:00 Chaperones check out/turn in keys to Miss Lewis• 8:00 Everyone must be in the lobby with their luggage, ready to load

buses! • 8:45 Drop off at the Vietnam Memorial for individual group touring. This is

when you tour the other museums and monuments you have not yet visited. This is youropportunity to visit what your group wants to visit.• 1:15 Meet back at Washington Monument to load buses.• 1:30 Depart for Arlington National Cemetery• 2:00 Arrive at Arlington National Cemetery. Break into groups to tour. • 3:00 Meet at “Tomb of Unknown Soldier” to witness Changing of the

Guard. Head back together to visitors’ center to load buses and depart Arlington National Cemetery. • 3:30 Depart for Golden Corral (Fredericksburg, VA) • 5:30 Arrive at Golden Corral for buffet dinner. Use restrooms before departure!!• 7:00-7:15 Stop at North Carolina State Line Welcome Center for QUICK restroom break.• 10:15 Arrive at AWE for PICKUP! SHEW!! ***Approximately one hour away from AWE arrival, students will phone their

parents to inform them of our arrival time. Parents must be waiting at AWE PROMPTLY when buses arrive.

The White House Tour• All attendees over age 15 will need a photo ID

to gain entrance into the White House. The ID will need to match the name given when you submitted your Social Security number and birthdate.

• We will arrive 20 minutes prior to the beginning of our tour for security clearance.

• All persons and items entering the White House will be screened through a security process. Individuals may be requested to consent to an interview or additional security procedures before they are admitted to the White House complex.

What should I pack?• Pack one bag with clothes and other accessories to put under the bus and one carry-

on for the bus with your snacks and lunch.• You may bring handheld electronic games, books, magazines, DVD videos (must be

rated G)• Please remember to pack a bag lunch for Friday.• Eating is allowed on the bus so you may bring snacks—NO GLASS BOTTLES!• Please do not send more than $30-$50 with your child to buy merchandise and

souvenirs. All activities and food are paid for in advance with the exception of Saturday’s lunch. They will have an opportunity to shop in various gift shops.
