Where Saratoga took place
• It happened in Saratoga, New York• By the Hudson River.
When it took place
• The Battle of Saratoga took place on September 19th though October 7th of 1777.
Who was involved in the battle
• General John Burgoyne • General Horatio Gates• British General sir. Henry Clinton
Why the battle happened
• The British felt they needed to cut New England from the rest of the states in order to finally crush the revolution.
What happened in the battles
• 5,895 British and Hessian people and troops surrendered their arms. The battle of Saratoga was also a turning point of the Revolution War.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages • They were fighting on their
own ground• Their greatest advantages
was their leader George Washington.
Disadvantages • They had to wage war in a
far away land were forced to ship soldiers and supplies thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
