SpaWhat are Peptides and Why they are wonderful for our Skin! Peptides are strings of amino acids, that are building blocks

of life and therefore your skin. In the skin, peptides occur naturally to keep the skin firm. In skin care products, lab-

created peptides work from the inside out to address a host of facial issues, especially wrinkles.

The pivotal benefit of peptides in skin care is their ability to penetrate the skin. This is a result of their size at a molecular

level. Long-chain proteins, such as collagen, can only be applied to the surface of the skin, because their molecular size makes it impossible for them to go deeper. The best they can do is to act as a temporary moisture barrier to

promote hydration and softness. But when these long-chain proteins are broken into shorter chains (peptides), skin

penetration becomes possible.

Peptides are non-invasive ingredients that have been proven to produce results, so they are great options for

incorporating into a skin care regimen. Know, however, that peptides are not quick and magic potions. Their one

drawback is that they take time because they build from within the skin, not from peeling the outer surface. The

positives of this approach: stronger skin, less or no irritation, and no free-radical stimulation. It is important to use

peptides as they are “food” for your skin, the same way we eat protein for our body. With regular use the results are

noticeable.

At the club we feature a facial with peptides and they are available for home use too.

SecurityBicycle Safety

I have received several complaints regarding cyclists riding all over the road and disregarding and/or

impeding the flow of traffic. Per Florida state statutes, cyclists may ride two abreast only within a single lane and when not impeding traffic. Cyclists may not ride more than two abreast except on paths or parts of

roadways set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles. Please see the following link for several bicycle safety tips to

keep in mind and remember to be both cautious and courteous while out riding in our beautiful community.

Click here for more bike safety information

Crime in your Community I am always happy to announce that Heritage Bay has not had any reported crimes in the community so far this year

(knock on wood!). If you remember in 2014, we experienced several burglaries to unlocked vehicles in June and a laptop

computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Siesta Bay in December. These were certainly crimes of

opportunity and although we live in an extremely safe community, we are not immune to this type of criminal activity. Thanks to our vigilant residents and the roving security officer in deterring and keeping crime in our

community almost non-existent. Elsewhere in the news, The Collier County Sheriff’s Office just released a crime alert

regarding some recent home burglaries experienced in the county. The attached community information bulletin

explains the crimes committed, the method of operation (MO) and some very helpful safety tips.

Automated External Defibrillators An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that is used to treat suspected heart

attacks in an emergency situation. In medical terms, the AED automatically diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac

arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through

defibrillation, the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective

rhythm. Did you know that Heritage Bay has six AED’s located throughout the Club and many of the onsite staff, as

well as, some of our own residents are trained in its use. Locations of our AEDs are as follows:• One in the Clubhouse Dining Room

• One in Fitness Center• One in Tennis Center• One in Golf Pro Shop

Two are on Golf Course Ranger Carts•

Page 13: The Bay Bulletin - Home - Heritage Bay Golf and Country Club The Bay Bulletin.pdfMar 09, 2015  · -Arnold Palmer Warm, breezy afternoons on the golf course, dinners and drinks with

Tailgating Complaints I have recently received several complaints regarding

vehicles tailgating into the community. Thanks to our Hi-Definition camera system, I was able to identify each tailgater

as a resident with a barcode. As a reminder to all, please wait the extra few seconds for the gate to close before

proceeding. If you follow too closely, the scanner may fail to read your barcode causing the gate arms to close on your

vehicle, causing damage to both your car and the gate arms.

Golf Course Evening Patrol On March 1st we started conducting evening patrols of the

golf course. Each night through season our evening security officer will be roving the golf course on my cart until dark

patrolling for walk on golfers, walkers, runners, cyclists and dog walkers. Each night after 5pm, there will be a rotating 9 holes for walkers and all players must be registered through the Pro-Shop. Please call the gate at 455-6392 to report any

suspicious activity and our officer will be dispatched to investigate. We hope that these patrols will deter this type

activity from occurring.Dinner Set Burglaries
