ACTIVITIES OF THE MONTHLFCAC

NATIONAL TRAILS MONTHSPEAKER SERIES

June 6, 13, 20, 27 from 6 to 7 p.m.

In celebration of National Trails Month the LFCAC will be hosting a speaker series to discuss the unique and wonderful outdoor recreational opportunities that exist in and around the Fairbanks area. Join us and be prepared to learn about outdoor fun that you didn’t even know about!

June 6th – Alaska State Parks will speak about day hikes, multi day backpacking trips, backcountry cabins available and many other things including the Chena River Recreation area.

June 13th – Family and MWR’s very own Outdoor Recreation Center will be on hand to discuss the many activities and classes offered including the popular Women in the Wilderness Program, recreational trips, renting out vehicles, and customized trips.

June 20th – The US Army Environmental Division will discuss the land and various opportunities that are available here on Fort Wainwright, Fort Greely, and other training areas under their care and management. They will be available to answer questions about the Recreational Access Permit process and give details on the thousands of acres available.

June 27th – Interested in Off Road Vehicle areas around Fairbanks? Meet The Bureau of Land Management who will be here to discuss many motorized trails available for those of you that love to zip around and feel the wind against your skin!

CHESS CLUBJune 11, 18, 25 from 3 to 5 p.m.

The club will provide an informal setting for those who love the game to meet,play and discuss strategies while getting to know others that have an interestin thee game as well.

Parents must be present to supervise their children as child care personnel will not be on hand.

WHITE WATER RAFTING: JUNE 24-26FWA BOSS will partner with Ft Richardson BOSS for white water rafting the Six Mile Creek on the Kenai Peninsula. Transportation and lodging provided by BOSS. The cost for the rafts will be $85. Only 15 slots available.
