By the time the Quad Experts came to the starting line, the racecourse had begun to thaw slightly and was now slick mud and ice. But that didn’t stop Marty Christoferson Jr. from nailing the holeshot and leading the pack out of the first turn at the start of the Quad Expert division scramble followed by Ralph Ulrich, Jason Sanford, Kara Frederick and Matt Holbrook. Christoferson continued to lead at the start of the second lap and was trailed by Holbrook, seven seconds back, in second. Doug Howarth, Ulrich and Bart Ferrira rounded out the top five.

Christoferson continued to pull away from the pack and re-mained out front, unchallenged, for the next six laps and took the win with almost a full minuet lead. Holbrook, Ferrira, Howarth and James Black completed the top five.

Hurd held the point position for the next three laps but gave up the lead to Rich on the white flag lap. Hurd was displaced to sec-ond. Third through fifth were unchanged. Rich pulled away and took the win with a 30 second advantage. Hurd, Howe, Ackley and Kazmierski rounded out the top five.
