Roald Dahl Festival WorkshopFree family workshop. The workshop will be led by a professional artist who will work with participants to make original artwork based around the theme of The Twits. The workshop will involve the design and creation of a banner unique to Buckingham. Participants are then invited to represent Buckingham in the 14th annual Roald Dahl Festival parade which will be held in Aylesbury on the 4th July, carrying their original artwork and banner.

Comedy Night starring Shappi KhorsandiBuckingham Town Council is pleased to welcome Shappi back to Buckingham with a brand new show. Star of Live At the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Have I Got News For You.
‘She has plenty to say, and says it with pointedness and potency.’ The Guardian.
Tickets are £15 and are on sale at Villiers Hotel, Buckingham and the Tourist Information Centre, The Old Gaol, Buckingham MK18 1JX (over 18s only).

Ed Grimsdale’s Buckingham Ghost WalkJoin Ed Grimsdale for an evening walk around Buckingham and learn about the ghostly goings on in the town. The walk will start outside Buckingham’s spookiest building, the Old Gaol, which is haunted both by evil murderers and frustrated escapees. Weaving your way through Buckingham you will encounter the ghost of a shocked Latin School Headmaster, Father Thomas.The walk will end in the old cemetery in Hunter Street. The walk will last about 75 mins.
Tickets £2.50 (limited numbers) are on sale at Buckingham Tourist Information Centre, Old Gaol, Market Hill, Buckingham MK18 1JX

Oxford Fiddle GroupBack by popular demand for the 6th year in a row is the Oxford Fiddle Group. The OFG performs songs and tunes mainly from England and Scotland, but also from Ireland and the USA. Some players also play other instruments besides the fiddle, so a typical line up for an OFG performance could include celtic harp, double bass, guitar, mandolin and concertina.

Live Acoustic Music with Buckingham Acoustic ClubThe Buckingham Acoustic Club has been going well for over 15 years. The club run an Open Mic in the front room of the Woolpack pub every Thursday evening, with live music from 8:30pm and showcases a hugely diverse range of performers: from local songwriters just starting out, to semi-professional guitarist and singers.

Friday 19 June, 8pmThe Radcliffe Centre, Buckingham
Fiery Flamenco with Tomas Jimenez and Maria Jose GarciaTomas and Maria will present a varied recital of solo flamenco guitar compositions and duets with castanets which will include South American and Arabic styles in addition to traditional Andalusian flamenco forms.
Tomas and Maria have given sell out concerts at the Royal Albert Hall (Lunchtime Concert series), Dorchester Festival, Canning House (Latin American and Spanish Cultural Centre).

Buckingham Civic DayThe Buckingham Society invites you to come along and show your pride in Buckingham at the Buckingham Civic Day ‘Singalong’.
Listen to the Glee Club UK Buckingham perform and then join in and learn to sing the song ‘Proud’. Along the way the Buckingham Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year awards will be presented by the Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow. It will be your chance to show how much you love your town.

Organised by Colin Saunders, who is well known amongst the young bands and musicians in and around the Buckingham area, and supported by Buckingham Town Council. In memory of the late Tom Dewhurst this free family music event will feature a drum off between young local drummers for Drummer of the Year.

The Buckingham Summer Festival once again brings a variety of top quality musical performances. There will be morning piano recitals, lunchtime concerts as well as evening concerts.

Turn Up and Play Basketball SessionsThis summer free basketball sessions for young people will be returning to Buckingham. Starting Monday 8th June, hour long turn up and play sessions will be taught by qualified coaches who will bring along all the equipment needed.
Young people aged 8-12yrs can attend sessions at Chandos Park at 5:30pm and young people aged 13 years upwards can attend sessions at Bourton Park at 6:45pm.
