THE CAMPAIGN FOR PI BETA PHI
Our Greatest Opportunities Lie Ahead
With a fundraising goal of more than $20 million — the largest philanthropic endeavor in Pi Beta Phi’s history — we have identified campaign priorities that will ensure our
sisterhood’s long-term growth financially and programmatically.
Our Fraternity mission, leadership, alumnae, donors and community have shaped these priorities. They have helped us identify the areas that will have a substantive impact on Pi Beta Phi’s success. From their insight, we have developed five campaign aspirations.
AREAS OF PHILANTHROPIC INVESTMENT
LEADERSHIP$8 MILLION
SCHOLARSHIP$5.5 MILLION
HOUSING $1 MILLION
OPERATIONS$1.25 MILLION

THE CAMPAIGN FOR PI BETA PHI
Our members require innovative training to lead in the 21st century. Today, we are able to provide national leadership training programs for nearly5 percent of our collegiate members. Yet, we know our members are craving the opportunity to learn new skills, collaborate with their peers and test their leadership theories.
WE WANT TO PROVIDE FULLY-FUNDED LEADERSHIP TRAINING EXPERIENCES FOR OUR COLLEGIATE MEMBERSHIP.
PREPARE MEMBERS TO LEAD IN COLLABORATIVE AND CREATIVE WAYS.

Scholarships put academic achievement at the center of our membership experience. Founded to develop women of intellect and integrity, access to education for our members is critical. While the scholarships awarded by Pi Beta Phi Foundation today have significant impact, it is almost 50 percent less than our largest awarding NPC counterparts.
WE WANT TO INCREASE OUR ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS, MAKING PI BETA PHI A LEADER AMONG NPC MEMBER GROUPS.
GIVE ACCESS TO INCREASINGLY EXPENSIVE EDUCATION — FOR COLLEGIANS AND ALUMNAE.
Pi Beta Phi has a more than 100-year commitment to philanthropic service. Today, our commitment to enriching lives through community service is realized through our efforts to champion literacy in our society. We believe in the power of reading, and know that inspiring a lifelong love of reading can unlock true potential, creating a more literate and productive society. However, functional illiteracy continues to be a systemic issue. Data tell us that one in four children will grow up functionally illiterate.
WE WANT TO IMPACT MORE LIVES THROUGH READ > LEAD > ACHIEVE INITIATIVES AND HELP BUILD PI PHIS AS LITERACY ADVOCATES.
PROMOTE A LIFELONG LOVE OF READING.
Building community is integral to a positive member experience as a collegian. Our chapter facilities are our most valuable assets and also our biggest liabilities. For this reason, Pi Beta Phi housing strives to ensure that all of our facilities are premier.
WE WANT TO CREATE AND FUND SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE HOUSING CONDITIONS AND SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW COMPETITIVE HOUSING OPTIONS FOR COLLEGIANS.
Unrestricted gifts, such as those to the Friendship Fund, are the lifeblood of any sustainable nonprofit organization. Income from unrestricted endowments will ensure that we continue to thrive, even during lean economic times, grow internal capacity and leverage philanthropic investments over time.
WE WANT TO CREATE AN OPERATIONS ENDOWMENT TO SUPPORT THE GROWTH OF PI BETA PHI.
BUILD OPERATIONAL RESOURCES TO LEVERAGE GROWTH AND SUSTAINABILITY.
ADVANCE COLLEGIATE HOUSING AS LIVING AND LEARNING COMMUNITIES.
