A Family Perspective
Parenting is a lot like the story of the farmer in the gospel parable today. All growth is the Lord’s work. We have no control over the process. In fact, the farmer does not even understand it, for the seed grows even when he sleeps. As parents, we can influence our children but nothing we do can guarantee results.
Shipwrecked VBS at St. Mary’s Vacation Bible School will begin on Sunday, June 24th at the 10:00 am Family Mass, then continue,
Monday, June 25th - Wednesday, June 27th from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Children as young as 4 through entering 6th grade are invited as participants, and students entering 7th grade and older are asked to help as volunteers. (Children younger than 4 are welcome if they are the child of a volunteer.) We are also looking for parent volunteers who want to be inspired and spend quality time with their children and others. It’s only 4 days - 8 hours total, or any time you can spare. To register go to: stmarysoswego.org and click on the VBS link or contact Lisa Roman at [email protected] for more information. We would greatly appreciate donations of snacks for VBS: Cheezit Crackers, Mini Pretzels, Fruit Snacks, Freeze Pops, and Mini Marshmallows. The monies from our Annual Bazaar help pay for special projects, such as repointing of the stones on the exterior of the church, roof replacement and repair for our 3 buildings, etc… Every dollar helps. We are still in need of the following donations: canned & boxed food items, mustard, ketchup, paper towels, napkins, gently used toys, stuffed animals, fast food toys and new items ($10 or under) that would make a great prize, such as: dish towels, coffee mugs, picture frames, candles, decorations, beach towels, etc...
