Our Journey Toward Easter has begun! Visit our Chapel’s Easter website: easterinbigcanoe.org. for a full schedule of Easter Activities at Big Canoe Chapel. Here you can also find some of the history of our great Easter celebra-tions during Lent and Holy Week.

This morning we will conclude this sermon series entitled, “Step Up.” Hopefully it has been a reminder that we have been called and supernaturally equipped to witness to our faith. Re-member, a witness for Christ often means the simple planting of a seed. I believe the opportunity for planting a seed takes place every day. A prayer asking God to continually make us aware of the open doors in our daily lives will lead us to share the transforming grace of Jesus. Perhaps the key to a witness involves a simple “step up” by faith.

What I hope we avoid is the idea that witnessing and evan-gelism is merely an extra-curricular religious activity assigned to people who are comfortable with that sort of thing. As we move forward from this series, I plan to keep the call to “make disciples” at the forefront of ministry at Big Canoe Chapel. I have ordered 25 copies of the gospel of John. Consider this---you have a friend skeptical about the Christian faith. You give that person a copy of John’s gospel as a gift. You simply ask them to read it. I might say, “after you read this, and I hope you will, you might have some questions. Let’s talk about those.” How’s that for a step up? And remember---the gospel is a matter of life and death. Plant a seed so that others may know life abundant and eternal.

You can do this. We all can. The song says it well, “People need the Lord.”

Grace and peace,

Len
