Transverse Damping System Transverse Damping System is a feedback with a real-time digital signal processing for:• damping of transverse injection

oscillations,• feedback curing transverse coupled bunch

instabilities,• excitation of transverse oscillations for beam

measurements and other applications. The Damper is in the list of the systems that

must operate already for first beam injection. Therefore the schedule of construction and installation of the Damper in the machine must be completed in 2006 and testing in the accelerator will start in November 2006.

JINR’s obligations:• 20 deflectors (kickers) & 20 twin-amplifiers.

This very fruitful and successful collaboration

has an excellent future, in particular with

the LHC and the LHC experiments now very

near to completion with start of operation
