The Team The bituminous
concrete lab unit has
been arranged to
provide the incoming
Laboratory Technician
with maximum support
so you can hit the
ground running. Training and oversite will
be provided on all necessary equipment
and methods by experienced staff. All
laboratory personnel are expected to
become NETTCP certified.
The Role As the Bituminous Concrete Laboratory Technician,
your primary objectives are:
Conduct acceptance testing on Asphalt PG Binder,
Emulsion, Hot Mix Asphalt, and Field Cores.
Prepare and conduct investigatory testing for ongoing
advance testing initiative, including Hamburg Wheel
Tracker and Flexibility Index Test.
Carry out the core functions of the
VTrans Quality Assurance Program.
Communicates well
Effective communication is vital to fostering good teamwork amongst civil servants and the wider community.

The Challenge - Laboratory TechnicianThe Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is seeking a qualified individual to join our Bituminous Concrete materials unit within the Construction & Materials Bureau to serve as a laboratory technician. This position is responsible for conducting acceptance tests on various bituminous concrete material types. Training will be provided, though prior experience in Bituminous Concrete materials testing is desirable.
