The Children for Peace Provides Aid to the Al Za'atari Refugee Camp

An Italian non-governmental organization, The Children for Peace (ONLUS) provides humanitarian and educational support to children and families in distressed regions of the Middle East and Africa. Among its most significant current efforts, the organization is providing ongoing support to Syrian refugees at the Al Za'atari Refugee Camp in Jordan.

As the turmoil in Syria continues to heighten, the camp is now home to over 65,000 refugees, with up to 4,000 more arriving daily. With the onset of an unusually severe winter and cold rains, children and families in the camp are in urgent need of basic items like coats and shoes. Recent meetings between camp officials and the President of The Children for Peace resulted in permission for the organization to fund and provide these essentials as well as blankets and vitamins.
