I am very excited to begin my ministry with you in August. I have heard many great things about the church and its members. I am looking forward to joining with you as we work together to make Disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world. I thought I would use this opportunity to provide you with a little background into my life. I have been married to my wife Cindy for 33 years. She is a registered nurse. We have five adult children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and the most beautiful six-year-old granddaughter in the entire world! I am sure you will get plenty of opportunities to see pictures of her. We are natives of Winfield, Kansas. I was a music teacher and elementary principal for 26 years in several schools all across Kansas (in fact, our youngest daughter was born in Liberal while we were living in Syracuse, where I was serving as elementary principal). I answered the call to ministry and began as a part-time pastor in 2008, and then was appointed to Sharon Springs, KS for my first full-time appointment in 2010. Our current plan is to move into the parsonage in Liberal on August 7, and preach for the first time on August 16. Until that time, I will be praying for you during the transition process, and would appreciate your prayers in return as Cindy and I pack up in Sharon Springs and start our ministry with you. Greetings to the congregation of First United Methodist Church in Liberal! I am very excited to begin my ministry with you in August. I have heard many great things about the church and its members. Rethink

Rethink & remember with love, Pastors Dave & Tim who have enhanced their pastoral skills in

F.U.M.C. The picture for Pastor Tim is already hanging next to the other pastors that have been

ordained thanks to the support of Liberal F.U.M.C.

On August 15, Pastor Keith Anglemyer will be in charge of the mission & ministry for the church. The

pastor has been called by God, validated by faithful service, and have been elected by the charge

conference or by their organization. He will represent us in worship ministries of the church. Keep him in

your prayers; support and encourage him; help him reach his mission & vision for the church.

Prayer for the pastor & the church

We unite our voices and hearts in praise to you, O Lord of our lives and of the church. We commit

ourselves a new to your service. We pray that you will fill us with your Spirit so that all our tasks may be

fulfilled for the good of your Kingdom. Guide, direct and strengthen your church until all the world comes

to know you and every tongue confesses you; in the name of Christ our Savior. Amen.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever

is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is

excellent or praise worthy think about such things.” Philippians 4:4,8
