Promises to keep......Investiture ceremony ―Before you are a leader , success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader , success is all about growing others.‖ Jack Welch Amity bestows upon its students the ability to be the future leaders of the world. Keeping up with this thought in mind, Amity International school, Sec 46, Gurgaon held its Investi-ture ceremony. Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson of Amity Group of Schools has always envisioned that Amitians should gain confidence by facing challenges in life. The newly appointed Council Members of Amity International School Sec 46 Gurgaon marched in with heads held high, to the beautiful beats of the school band, on this great occasion of Investiture ceremony of the new Office Bearers of the School. The outgoing Head Boy and Girl bid a sentimental adieu to the school in their respective speeches. The newly appointed Council Members were adorned with sashes and received the flag from the Chief Guest Col. B.S. Ahluwalia and the school Principal Ms. Arti Chopra, Col. Ahluwalia in his speech em-phasized on the importance of discipline and dignity of the individual and the school. The new Head Boy, Akashanjan Ayyalasomayajula and Head Girl, Sakshi Garg promised a defi-nite change for the better tomorrow with great conviction in their confident speeches. This was followed by the entire council taking oath to discharge their duties with sincerity and fulfill everyone's expectations. A constitution was released by the eminent guest Col. Ahlu-walia and the School Principal,Mrs Arti Chopra. The whole stage lit up with vibrant colors of the different flags and the event reinstated the faith in the caliber and leadership of the future generation.

Keeping up with the vision of the Chairperson , Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan of mentoring Amitians into worthy torch bearers of tomorrow, Amity International School, Sector – 46, Gurgaon organized the Citation Ceremony for its outgoing batch of Class XII. Proceedings began with a Havan, and the afternoon session saw the arrival of the special guests Mrs. Divya Chauhan, the Chairperson of Amity School of Fine Arts, the Amity School of Fashion Technology and the Amity School of Performing Arts, Mr. TPS Chauhan , Mrs.Meenakshi Rawal and Mr. B.N. Bajpai. The festivities commenced with Ganesh Vandana and lighting of the lamp signifying the spread of the light of knowledge. The School Princi-pal, Mrs. Arti Chopra, in her speech inspired the students to adhere to the values of honesty, perseverance, teamwork and service before self.
The Head Girl and Head Boy gave speeches, reliving the nostalgic memories, expressing their gratitude to their teachers and school, offering advice to the up-coming batch. The students carried diyas to light up the emblem of Amity, signi-fying the light it spreads in their lives.
Under the guidance of the mentor and the blessings of our dear Chairperson Dr. Amita
Chauhan, two students of Amity International School Sec,46 Gurgaon have brought laurels
to the school by bagging the First and Third prize at a painting competition AMRUTAM- an
endeavour to save water for tomorrow. The competition was organized by Modern Vidya
Niketan , Faridabad. The School Principal, Ms.Arti Chopra congratulated the students and
said such contests are an excellent way of expressing hidden wishes, desires and dreams in
the form of art.
A meeting with all staff members was conducted on Saturday, January 18, 2014 on CBSE Accreditation as our school is applying for Accreditation this year. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to assess schools through standardized instruments and process of internal (self evaluation) and external assessment (peer review) which will encourage sustained qualitative enhancement.

GURGAON PROGRESSIVE SCHOOLS’ MEET held at AIS
46 on 20th January 2014. The principals of various schools at-
tended the meeting. The Agenda of the meeting was to discuss:
GPSC Annual Convention which was scheduled to be held on
Saturday, 8th February, 2014 at EPI Centre.
Dr. Prem Vrat, Vice Chancellor, ITM School of Management
graced the Meet as Chief Guest.

Prachi Bhardwaj (XI) and Diksha Chillar (X) won Gold and Sil-ver medals respectively in Subjunior National Championship in Archery held at Rohtak, Haryana.
National Talent Search Examination ( NTSE) is an examination of a great repute. This examination is con-
ducted by the NCERT as a nodal organization. The exam is conducted in two stages. Stage I is conducted
by SCERT of all states of India. Ira Pachori of class X of Amity International School, Sector -46 ,Gurgaon
has been selected for the National Level .She stood at rank 28 in state of Haryana.

Jr. Team comprising of Pradyuman Singh of VI-D, Aditya Bisht of
VII-G and Rajat Srivastava Of VIII-B got selected at the GTP Road
Safety Mega Festival 2013-14 for the 2nd round and stood 2nd out
of 26 schools, qualifying for the Finals which was scheduled on 16th
January, 2014.
Inter Amity Aerobics Competition held at AIS Pushp Vihar. Our
School bagged 3 gold medals, Navya (VI D) and Yashashwani (VI B)
won silver medals and Navya (VI D), Pearl (VI B) and Yashashwani
(VI B) won Bronze medals.
‗Rock Band‘ Team of AIS-46 participated in ‗Razzmataz‘ on Friday, 24th January, 2014 at AIS-PV. The team also bagged the prize of the ‗Best Rhythm team‘.
Musckaan Chauhan of Class X B participated in 59th National School Games at Virar, Mumbai and won 3 Gold medals
Two students from class X participated in the Inter-Amity Physics Quiz 'Bazinga' on 31st January, 2014 at AIS-MV. Shubham Rana & Ira Pachori of class X won 1st Position among the eight schools of Amity.
Two students went for the Quiz - 'Sawal Dilli Ka' on 29th January, 2014 held at Sathya Sai Auditorium, Lodi Estate, New Delhi.
Creativity at its best................Amitians rock the world On February1st,2014, under the able guidance of our Beloved chairperson Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Amity International School, Noida organised an All India Regional Fair of Odyssey of Mind, a creative problem solving competition for students across Delhi/NCR. It was a clean sweep by the Students of AIS,46 who walked away with gleaming gold medals in all the four problem solving round in the junior category and a gold medal in the senior category. It was a proud moment for AIS,46 as the winners of these coveted gold medals will now have the honour of representing their country in the Euro fest in Slovakia followed by World Finals in USA.

Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary (SGT) University felicitated

Founder‟s Day week for her unique contribution in imparting quality
education on Monday, January 27, 2014.

(Haryana) .former Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences
(AIIMS), New Delhi, an authority of Forensic Medicine of India and Dr
K C Bhardwaj, Chairman, Board of School Education, Bhiwani, Hary-
ana did the honours.
Principals from Rotary Public School, Faridabad, Old Lady Fatima
Convent, Gurgaon, DAV Public School, Vasant Kunj, Ryan Public
School etc. were also felicitated.

Amitians have proved their mettle time and again and have shown the world that they are
in true essence global citizens who can face any challenge with aplomb and emerge victo-
rious. Under the able guidance of their Chairperson Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, students of
Amity International School, Sector 46,Gurgaon participated in Taiwan International Sci-
ence Fair 2014-2015(TISF) held at National Taiwan Science Education Centre
(NTSEC) ,Taipei, Taiwan from 21st January to 26th January 2014. Students from more than
21 countries participated in it. With the mission of identifying and nurturing talented
young scientist, TISF is a science research competition for high school students from grade
nine to twelve. Over 231 projects were presented in TISF and participating students were divided into domestic and
overseas groups.. The projects were categorised into various sub themes like biomechanics, engineering, chemistry,
home science etc. and two students of class XI from AIS-46, Gurgaon represented India in TISF and got the project
under Engineering. The title of the project was „Nicola Tesla- A Dream City‟- a scientific attempt at creating a net
Zero efficient city to save energy on Earth. The project earned appreciation from the judges who congratulated the
school for their industrious efforts in developing students calibre and encouraging active participation in such
events. The school Principal ,Ms. Arti Chopra lauded the efforts of the students.
An esteemed group of panellist, enthusiastic student moderators, active audience and
members of Independent I whole heartedly participated in the panel discussion on
“women empowerment”. It took place on 31st Jan‟14 at AIS Sec-46. The discussion com-
menced by welcoming of panellist, distributing of brochures and survey questionnaire,
viewing a PPT and felicitation of guests by respected Principal Mrs. Arti Chopra . She
delivered her thoughts and views to all the listeners followed by Ms Ruby Khan-
associated with Hindustan Times, Dr.Khanna-runs an NGO, Ms. Seema Nagar-
entrepreneur, Ms. Priyanka Rawley- Social worker and Ms Stuti-school counsellor. Every
panellist along with a few students put forward their views on the topic which was soon
followed by a heated debate. The topic of discussion ranged from reservation of seats in
the parliament to role of women at the home, front to low number of women at board
meetings, to importance and crucial role of house wives in society. Various domains of
womanhood were explored and effective conclusions were drawn. The discussion broad-
ened every individual‟s horizon and the aim of spreading awareness of women empower-
ment was successfully met.
