Have you seen the green envelopes? When we donate money using them, that serves as one way we are able to support mission causes. Much of the money we collect through the green envelopes stays right here in our community and is distributed to local organizations as well as to our own benevolence ministry. Our benevolence ministry helps meet needs for a number of families and individuals in Richmond and Columbia counties. Each week, we distribute groceries to 25-30 families, some of whom also receive assistance with rent or utilities. Each week it takes almost as many volunteers to help make this good work happen. Please consider putting an extra gift in the offering plate using a green envelopes this Sunday. Yes, it is above your regular tithe or offering, but it is another way we reach out to and care for our community. Thank you for your love, prayers, service and support. - Chip Reeves

The Church Nominating Committee is soliciting nominations from church members for a Trustee to serve a seven year term starting in 2017. If you have a nomination, please submit the person’s name with a brief resume of the individual’s qualifications to serve as a Trustee. Submit this information in writing to Lavinia Polatty at the Church Office or by email to Doug Clepper, Nomination Committee Chair, at clepperdmd@gmail.com. The Nomina-tion Committee will start the selection process for a Trustee in August to be presented to the Church in December.
