Abe Lincoln & Ulysses Grant

• Lincoln thought success was illegal, and was willing to use force to defend the Unions law.

• It only took 4 slave states to start the war.

• His Mom died when he was 10 years old.

• He was the leader of the Union army.

• He was the type of person who Lincoln wanted to lead his army.

• He was a good/stubborn fighter.

• She married John Tubman in 1844.

• In her early teens, she quit working indoors, & became a field-hand.

• He was National Army Quarterman for almost a year.

• He had 8 years of Artillery.

The Gettysburg Address • His father brought a new nation they

conceived. They should not die in vain god will give them new birth and freedom. They said they can’t heal the ground. Now we are engaged in a great civil war testing. They brave men who lived in the dead surrogated. They also horned the dead.

Emancipation Proclamation

• During the civil war, African Americans tried to join the union army of the north they were told to keep out of it was a white mans war." At first president Lincoln said that the war was over.

Eli Whitney

• Was the inventor of the cotton gin and pioneer in the mass production of cotton. Whitney was born in west Massachusetts on December 8,1765 and died on January 8’ 1825.
