July 12, 2015 “To Glorify God by Knowing Christ and Making Him Known.”
Training For Church Leaders Shocco Springs, Talladega, AL
Friday, July 31—Saturday, August 1, 2015
We are organizing a trip for a Friday lunch through Saturday lunch conference held by the State
Convention at beautiful Shocco Springs, AL. Conference, travel, meals and housing are on the
church. We will leave Friday AM and return Saturday afternoon. The conference includes five ses-
sions where you pick from various training tracks to include... Adult, Youth, Children’s & Preschool
Sunday School, Adult Discipleship, Senior Adults, Single Adults, Deacon Ministry, Communica-
tions & Technology, Evangelism, Missions, Men’s & Women’s Ministry, Stewardship and more!
Detailed info and sign up sheets are available in the Worship Center Foyer. Space is limited so let
us know if you can go as soon as possible. You can also call the church office 693-3220 for more
information. This is a really well done training event. Nine attended from FBC last year and we are
looking for an even larger group this year.
THE SUMMIT
We look forward to this opportunity to gather all the men of FBC in the mid-summer for encourage-
ment and fellowship! Join us for a full breakfast, a testimony of a transformed life and an opportu-
nity to sign on for some service projects for the single ladies of our church family.

Worship and Witness
Our summer sermon series in the Psalms of Asaph directs
us to worship. You and I were made to worship. Worship
is in our DNA. The question is – “Whom shall we
worship?” Our Creator God designed us to worship Him
alone. In so doing we find true life and all that is good.
But sin’s corrupting influence directs us to just the
opposite. Sin perverts our created purpose to worship not
the Creator but the creature – namely ourselves. When
Self becomes the aim of worship then we do not discover
life and good. The Psalms of Scripture are necessary
reminders pointing us back to God and “true north”.
Reading, pondering, studying and applying the messages
of the Psalms serve to refresh and renew our original
design and calling. I hope you’ll arrive each Sunday
morning this summer prepared and eager to do what you’re
made to do – Worship!
True worship automatically flows into witness. When we
experience a taste of the glory of our God we respond in
worship of lips and life. We present our bodies to Him as
living sacrifices and obediently “make Christ known.”
Already this summer our church has witnessed to Christ
via monthly G.R.O.W. nights, Vacation Bible School,
Carpenters for Christ and WIRED. Now we send out our
Impact Indy team. This Saturday, July 11th, seventeen
men, women and students journey to our Samaria (North
America) to partner with a church planter in establishing a
new church in an unreached neighborhood of Indianapolis,
Indiana. These brothers and sisters represent all of us.
Please note their names below and pray for them as they
journey and witness to the Person of Jesus Christ up north.
As God brings more people into His family of faith He
receives all the glory and even more worship on the earth!
