By Taylor Stolworthy & Stephanie Makowski

On April 16, 2013, the 6th Years went to the El Mercado Spanish Market in Hartford. We looked all around the market. The market had everything from earrings to yucca. There was an interesting selection of meats including pig and chicken feet and pig ears. There was also a great variety of fruits and vegetables. Some of us bought dried papayas, green to-matillos, cilantro, cactus, and aloe leaves. Ned bought a Mexican soccer jersey and Taylor bought Mexican boxing gloves that can fit on your thumbs. After the market we went to an authentic Peruvian restaurant called Cora Cora for lunch. We enjoyed ordering our food in Spanish. Some of us tried Anticuchos (cow heart) for lunch while most of us didn’t. Taylor finished all of his cow heart. We drank Chicha Morada which is a Peruvian drink made of purple corn juice and fruit. It was very good. After a long but tasty lunch we headed back to The Cobb School. It was a really fun trip.
