The Week Ahead... The Cobb Tales About the Auction The Cobb School, Montessori 112 Sand Hill Road Simsbury, CT 06070 www.cobbschool.com Cobb on Facebook and Twitter Monday, February 20 NO SCHOOL Save The Date When? Friday, April 27th at 6:30 pm Where? The Riverview, just minutes away from school What? After-five attire, open bar, dinner, dancing and bidding Why? Because our school depends on you! The annual auction is The Cobb School's biggest fundraiser. The school depends on families to donate items, contribute to raffle baskets, bid in the online and live auctions and join the Cobb community for an event that celebrates our special school. There are many ways to participate, both before and during the event. The auction evening is a great time for new parents to meet people, and "old" parents to catch up with friends. You can share stories about your children with the beloved staff or show off your dance moves after dessert. You can bid on beautiful classroom projects or buy tickets for several kid-friendly theme baskets. Make it a date night or come solo (the solo table is the most raucous). Just be sure to come! We are currently accepting donations for the online auction. Ideas include: vacation homes, sports or theater tickets, electronics, special access passes, creative packages (what unique thing do you have to offer?). Please use the attached form for all donations. Thank you in advance for doing your part to make this the best auction yet! Parents of Extended Day students will need to bring their children to the Ferguson Theater at the Ethel Walker School before the opera so they can perform. The ED children must wear white blouses/shirts & navy skirts/pants. There will be a swap rack in Mary Lou’s downstairs office after Presidents’ Weekend for everyone in the community to either donate or take blue & white items. We encourage anyone to help themselves to the items and hope everyone will pass items along as the children outgrow them.

… all the staff and parents who attended the Parent Educa-tion event on transitions. The teachers did a superb job on demonstrating lessons and explaining how the children pre-pare themselves for the next level. Thank you for your sharing your expertise, and thank you to the parents for coming out to learn more about the Montessori continuum.

...to all the children and parents who supported the 6th Years’ Valentine’s Bake Sale. The children raised $412! All pro-ceeds will go toward the 6th Grade Trip and toward materials for our sister school in Bhutan. Thank you again!

...Victoria to Mrs. Gallagher’s class! Please be sure to welcome our new-est family to The Cobb School com-munity!
