It was a very sweet occasion, and we hope your family member or friend enjoyed his or her time with us. We know the children did. In fact, children are more excited for Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day than you might realize. As parents you feel the pressure to pull the day together, but the children feel only joy. They want to share their work and show off their school. They light up when their guests arrive, and they proudly give grand tours. Do not underestimate the happiness this event brings to the children. The bond between a child and grandpar- ent or special friend is not the same as the parent-child bond. It is to be examined, appreciated and fervently respected. Please enjoy this window into this special day.
